|
|
Hi ,
I Got the XBOX Ultramix (on preorder?) and plan to pick it up today, but I have this realy nice DDR metal platform off of ebay (paid 16cents!) and it works asomely on the PSX.
Dose anyone know a convertor to use this PSX pad on my xbox? and where to get it?
Thanks

It is $20 in EB and such stores, but you might luck out and find one on Ebay. The one in the green box on Ebay is C.R.A.P.(Carelessly Reproduced Annoying Poopy). there is a delay from the time of button press until said button press processes. The one listed above is by Gemini and I use it myself. I am not the DDR god by any stretch, but people better than i use it also and say it is worth the money. _________________

What you can do is if you buy the Ultramix bundle pack that comes with the soft mat you can make a control box that works perfect. The only problem is it doesn't hook up to a PS2 cable. It hooks up to a D-Shell connector like on the front of a Cobalt Flux mat. That will also solve the problem that when you with a mat and it shows a controller.
Anyway that is what I recommend and think. Hope it helps.[/quote] |

I've heard that no converter works 100% of the time.
Remember I heard this, so take my answer at face value.
If you don't want to have to buy an adapter, or are just very handy at tinkering with your own toys, this thread may help you. _________________

Stay away from the XJoyBox controller converter. The lag makes Ultramix unplayable. _________________

I returned the XJoyBox converter and got one in an orange package from Gamestop that converts PS2 controllers to either Xbox or GameCube. It has a switch on it for Steering Wheels too. It's the one on Red Octane's site as well. I'm not a great DDR player, but the difference between this one and the XJoyBox one is night and day. It still feels perhaps a bit laggy, but not nearly as bad. I can actually PLAY with this one. _________________

i know which converters to stay away from, but which one(s) should i go for?
(if a converter only works with dual shock controllers - does that exclude pads?) _________________

I own the EBgames adaptor... I see no delay whatsoever. Honestly, I think the problem is Ultramix or the Xbox itself. I find that alot of songs are still out of sync when I play with a standard Xbox controller. _________________
