Ok so everyone is complaining about how they can't get the arrows mapped right and everyone says to do the Up Start Select trick well I haven't even gotten to that point and I need help.
Here's the problem-I just got in the mail today and it came with a floppy disk containing the necessary drivers. So I hook it up and put in the floppy disk and run the setup and it says This will install Super Joy Box Series USB Game Controller and I click yes. So it installs and takes about 2 seconds. A box pops up that says Game Controllers. It says these settings help you configure the game controllers installed on your computer. You can add a controller, Click on Advanced or Click Troubleshoot. Troubleshoot does not help at all so I go to add controller there is a list of all controllers and I have no clue which one I should pick to go with a RedOctane 2.0 Ignigition Pad.
Also I remember a post made by jtrobot on November 14th 2003 that said:
It's normal for the properties to show diagonals, don't worry about that. The problem is getting it to recognize the arrows as buttons instead of only directions (with start+select+up).
Here's what I do:
1. Go to the controller properties in Windows where you test the buttons. You'll notice that triangle, square, etc., when you hit them, light up red numbers on the bottom (do you see those?). But arrows do not; but they should. Hit start+select+up on the pad (you can watch on the screen to make sure you're hitting them all) and try the arrow buttons again. Are they lighting up red numbers now? If so, good, move on...
2. Go to Stepmania, and map the controller as you like it. Play!
You'll have to do step 1 every time your computer boots, which is a little bit of a pain, but a small price to pay IMO. Plus you get good at doing it fast (I have a shortcut to controller properties on my desktop), it only takes me 5-10 sec now. Good luck!
So I've done that too because I need to configure for basic use and for step mania but when I go into the Controller properties and hit the x and the o that I have instead of a triange and square and nothing lights up I hit start select up on the pad and nothing happens either none of the buttons on the screen will light up but I know the pad is working because the pad itself doesn't light up but a series of dots light up on the hard plastic part of the pad where the redoctane logo is when I touch the arrows and x and o.
Someone, anyone please help... I am dying to try out the pads. |

Ok, so I orderd this thing from Edmonton called the "Dual USB Adapter", and it looks exactly like the Super Dual Box, were talking identical here fellas. I cant notice a difference, at all! Even that little player1 and player2 inscribed thing near the controller port is there, exactly the same.
Anywas, in stepmania sometimes the side jump arrows and the front and back jump arrows dont work. It usually only happens on ones stacked on top of each other, like 10 side jumping arrows in a row.
I tried going into the windows usb controller thing, and holidng Start + Select + Up on the Dpad.
But it doesnt work, the arrows still dont flash when I press em on the D pad. Only when I hit the analong button do :\
Anyone got any suggetions?
Thanks. |

I don't know if this'll help, but according to stepmania.com, you have to holp up+start+select for 3 seconds for it to do anything. _________________
