Ok... my friend knows a guy who is holding an informal DDR tourney later this month. The tourney's all MAX2 except the finals will be on Pop 4 Normal on Extreme. Now, I play both US Maxes on PS2 but I've only even touched a DDR Extreme arcade game once. What I really wanna know is WHAT THE HECK IS POP 4?!
Especially since the tournament's in two weeks...

Nonstop mode group...The songs are *correct me if I'm wrong*: Cartoon Heroes: Speedy mix, I'm Gonna Get You, Irresistiblement, and I Do I Do I Do. Quite fun on Normal. _________________

Yeah, I know that kinda makes me screwed, but I have an arcade a half an hour away that I'll head to...
And normal is the equvalent of standard, right?
And while i'm asking questions are marvelous steps AAs or something like that or am I just hopelessly clueless?
And thanks for the help, guys

I Do I Do I Do is really a pain on 1.0x speed. That's the only reason I play Pop4 difficult on 1.5x.
Pop4 difficult 1x - 89,5xx,xxx
Pop4 difficuly 1.5x - 93,5xx,xxx

Wait a sec...
You're telling me that the final round is going to be Pop4 normal... a 3 light, a 4 light, a 4(?) standard, and a 5 standard...
WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That seems much too easy for a tournament... |

well put it this way, It's to see how many marvelous you can get, and it gives everyone a better chance of winning.
Let's say joe can pass PSM oni..but he's not really good at pa
Then Bob Is awesome at pa..but PSm oni kicks his ass.
So that way both of them play Pop 4. It's a better match.
that's how i just see it. _________________

Because I can nearly AAA pop4 and won't be able to pass either of those. =P
But seriously, those are heavy songs and to keep with the idea of a Basic/Trick tournament, songs on basic and trick are what they are looking for. _________________

Because it's the regular division and not the expert... expert is 8-10 foot heavy and oni only with"something planned" for the finals. Regular is 1-6 Light and Standard with Pop4 Normal as the finals. The top 32 make expert, then everybody else goes to regular and since I've only played extreme once, i'm not even gonna bother. On the 22-song qualifier list for tryouts I have 5 songs I can do, and the list will be cut down to 10 by competition day. On top of that, you can't repeat songs, and it's 1 pick per round. You see the hopelessness?
