Just like the topic says, how bad were you when you first started?
I just got into the game the day before yesterday. On a friend's suggestion I went out and bought a cheapie pad and DDRMAX2. I needed a fun active-activity since MMORPGs have rendered me rather out of shape.
Anyways yesterday I could hardly pass most songs with a E or D if I was lucky on light. Today I can hit light songs with A or B most of the time. So I got overconfident and decided to try a slower song on Standard. I can't hit the half steps!
Anyways you pros, just so I know I'm not alone. How bad were you when you first started out? |

Well, about 15 minutes before I stepped on the machine the first time, I thought you had to hit the arrows right as they appeared onscreen. :P Luckily my sister told me how to do it before I made myself look really retarded. _________________

Just about everyone was pretty spastic when they first started. So just ignore the inevitable posts from people who are going to tell you they were playing Heavy after just 3 days. |

When I first saw this game, I thought it was the most homo game in the world and one day I gave it a try and fell on my buttocks trying to look cool on basic. Hoto. |

I got rarely a B and mostly C's and D's on begginner. I would fail automatically and misstep on light songs because I was not used to the pad. |

I started playing on DDRMAX and I could just barely pass I like to move it on speed 1 (there was no beginner mode). The only other song I could pass was Remember You. Now I can pass most heavy songs and all Standard and light songs. |

First time I played I C'ed Spin the Disc Light. It's too easy for a two-footer, in my opinion, but as far as other songs --- well, let's just say I had to keep practicing. |

either way i struggled beating D2R on light for like 4 days. _________________

First time I ever played was on 4th mix home version a couple years back. First song I played was Kick the Can on basic, and managed to pass that. Within the hour I had managed to get that song to a Full Combo, among playing many of the other easier songs.
The funny thing about me is is that I pretty much skipped the trick/standard difficulty. I played a couple songs on it when I was at that skill level, but as soon as I played and passed Kick the Can on maniac (just to see how hard it was on maniac, I randomly picked it) I figured I knew how to do most of the foot placements, and just stayed on maniac mode from then on. |
