Well, first of all try upgrading to Alpha8 (if you're not using that already). then try updating your sound card drivers, and then make sure you're using the latest Service Pack of your OS (if using 2k or XP). These may fix it. Mine used to skip occasionally too, but SP4 fixed tha for me.
If none of that works, then try reducing some of the image quality options, such as resolution and such. |

Is it a laptop? Im having problems with my 1.13ghz laptop, even though a not much faster desktop will run it fine. Im guessing its either a) the crappy shared memory video card, or b) the fact the hard drive is slower. I would suggest defragging/etc, closing all running programs (virus scan, winamp agent, etc), and possibly deleting some songs. It seems to work better if I only have a few hundred songs loaded than if I had all thousand or so. |

Yeah, it does that on my laptop. I have an Athalon 2200 and 512 mb RAM and it skips. On my friend's 1.0ghz desktop it doesn't skip at all. |

Yeah, could be the video card, then. You should try updating your video drivers to the latest, and that might help. If not...then it's probably because of crappy built-in video, and there won't be much you can do about it. |

Got the same problem myself, running either 3.0 final, or 3.9 alpha 10 or 11....
Running an Athlon XP 2000+, 512MB of RAM, Win 98SE, latest patches/updateas on everything, even my keyboard.
However, I only have the problem on Afronova and Candy Unlimited...
Oh yeah, running a Radeon 9600 non-pro with 3.8 cats... |
