Read the Read-Me that came with it.

Songs... .SM or .DWI in the song folder directory.

Say you want the song "X gonna give it to ya" to be in the "rap" folder.

It would look like this:
Stepmania
Songs
rap
X gonna give it to ya
All the required songs

Or you can jsut find .SMZIPs that do all the work for you.

Otherwise do that to install songs.

When the game loads it checks for an annoucner, a skin and the courses. See my other thread about how to make courses. Usually announcers and skins are .SMZIPs and you don't have to worry about installing those.

Now how does it work? First it loads all the songs from the song directory then begins to play. If you have no custom skin installed, it reads "STEPMANIA" and a guy doing a handplant. After this, you are brought to a main menu. As for the "arrows", these are found in either a .SM or .DWI file that can be easily made from a text program. Of course the music is the .MP3, or whatever common music media file you have (.wav, .wma, .ogg, etc.).

Press start to begin the game or scroll down to see the other options. From here it's pretty self explanitory, if you need more help, feel free to ask away. If you need help making the steps themselves and don't know how to make a .DWI, then X-Steps works great for you. If you still need help, there's a thread a coupe columns up that explains it all.

Feel free to ask for more help!
