I made this remix over a month ago, but I've been hesitant to post it here because I fully acknowledge that most people will hate it. If, however, you are curious, masochistic or a fan of digital hardcore, give it a listen.

Honestly, it sounds like the regular Crash!, but if the disc kept skipping through the song. |

Uhh.. guys? Let's have more nettiquite. I quote the Imaging forums
Nobody is Required to Like Your Art
Anything you post here may (and probably will) be criticized. If you don't want to hear what other people think then don't post because nothing is exempt. Some people may like your work, others will not - but both kinds of comments have an equal right to be here. If someone someone posts some negative comments about your work that does not mean they are flaming you.
Example of an acceptable reply:
"That picture looks like 3 filters applied on top of a simple cut/paste job. It doesn't look like you put much thought or effort into it. I don't like it.
Example of a not-okay reply:
"That picture is crap, why would you blind me with something so bad? Have you ever used photoshop before? You should be shot for producing something so ugly."
Let's change stuff...

IMO, it could use a little work. I like the drum beat. The CD skipping should be somewhere in the beginning. Make it sound like CRASH! at the beginning but do the skips when he say Now we are we are going SKIP SKIP SKIP SKIP (insert rest of techno or other genre song you have created)
But, that's only my opinion... _________________

Not your style, I get it. Digital hardcore is hardly the most accesable genre in the universe.

I'll admit it could be more cohesive...maybe mix the breakbeat a little higher and add another slightly less chaotic loop to bring it all together.
Er...have you ever even heard Nine Inch Nails?

Most stuff I've heard has some...ahem, cohesion to it? Keeping in mind that I absolutely love the original, that really does just sound like the regular Crash! skipping nonstop. You may have put some effort into it, but it doesn't show. There really needs to be some other element to it besides skip-like repetition, or it's not going to sound good at all. Personally, I believe that skipping works for two or three seconds at a time, and even then, only in some situations, and it absolutely HAS to be used sparingly.
Really, I respect the fact that you were gutsy enough to put your work out to the public, but there has to be more to it if you want it to sound good. _________________

No...stop.
I suggest taking everyones advice above [that involved improving the song]. And if I had advice to give, I would. That was horrible.

I hear what you're trying to do, and it's pretty close. I've never tried to make music like this, but it sound like a pain to make.
The drum loop tries to keep a steady time, but the mess of Crash tends to rush it a lot. It lags behind the beat a lot, making it even more disjointed than it should be.
It's definitely better than the original, though -_- |

Okay, turning the advicemeter on...
Personally, I hate Crash. I Believe In Miracles, The Reflex, Butterfly, and Cutie Chaser could be the Player's best 17-20, and I wouldn't care as much as seeing Crash anywhere in the top 20, especially on the machines that I play on.
That being said, the remix you made sounded just like a copy of that skipping. The beginning didn't sound too horribly bad, but when you tried to glitch the words... no, there will be no rock music remixed into digital anywhere near me. But when I closed my eyes and listened to it, I could literally see a 127-car pileup on a suspended freeway. Congratulations, you've rightfully given Crash an appropriate song for it's name.
I don't think Konami would look at this though... I couldn't even see a step pattern for it in my head, and I've seen step patterns for pretty strange songs (i.e.: Kyle's Mom is a Big Fat Bitch by Eric Cartman). Keep working at it though... let us know what happens, and mabye we'll see Crash Destruction, or something of the sort in future generations of DDR. |
