I remember seeing on these boards a long time ago about downloadable DDR ringtones for a cell phone, does anybody know where to find them? |

dude, this should be stickied. eveytime i really look at the boards (which isn't too often) i see this as a new topic.
i remember someone saying to look in google, and i DID find a site, bu it was ages ago and didn't work on my phone.
just try entering in something like "DDR Ringtones-Butterfly" or something like that. Butterfly is the only one that i remember is a ringtone _________________

Yes, there really should be a sticky thread for this. I'd attempt to help, but since you didn't even bother to say what kind of phone you have, I really can't. Different phones use different ringers. Some have to be programmed in, some are downloadable over the air, some require a data link cable....the variations from phone to phone are way too many to list here. Be more specific and someone might be able to point you in the right direction. _________________

Through www.3gupload.com, you can upload ringtones recorded from wav files, I just uploaded a clip of Sakura to it, after I get my phone tomorrow I'll see if it works and if it does I'll send the clip I recorded to anybody that wants it. |

There are two ways to go about into getting ringtones:
1) DDRSpot.com has ringtones in text format which you have to convert according to the phone you have (since the're in RTTTL format, they should be a cinch to convert). For example, to input them to a Nokia phone, you would either have to keep the format and upload via data cable for the older phones and ones that have IR transfer or to convert it to either Composer (which you can use to author the tone and export it to SMS format which you send to your self or via the Internet. A great program to use to covert Composer ringtones to SMS messages is Nokia Composer found in Under1MB under Sound&Music in the second page) or Keypress format (3390 has a built-in melody conposer). For Ericsson owners, you would have to convert RTTTL to Melody Composer format. Use Uniring to convert the RTTTL tone to other formats.
2)To get DDR polyphonic ringtones, Smurfy Sailor's Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Midi Palace has most, if not all of the DDR songs in MIDI format. However, to upload it, either you have to upload it to your phone via data cable, or theoretically, have to create a WML page so that you can download it from your phone's WAP browser. TagTag allows you to create a free WML site where you can link to the files from a website where the file is hosted. Also, if you want to trim down the length of MIDI files and export them as smaller ringtones, use a program called PSMPlay.
I hope this helps in your quest in finding DDR ringtones. _________________

If people used their favorite DDR ring tone, they would never answer their cell phones. |

Having a little DDR mini game of some sort on your cell phone would be interesting. Keeps people busy for when they need to find something to do in class other than pay attention. |

wait...you're SUPPOSED to pay attention in class? no wonder i've gotten bad PR grades. o well. DDR minigame would be cool, if Japan sold their handhelds such as this, this one, this one, and this one too. KONAMI is holding us back. they suck. _________________

If you have polyphonic and bluetooth wireless on your phone, like my Sony Ericsson T616, midis + finale 2002 become your best friends |

In some cases, you need to convert the midi into a file format your phone can understand before uploading to a WAP site and D/ling to your phone.
Example: For the Motorola T720, the ringtone has to be an .ems file _________________
