ddr song selection colour

i checked around the site, and i couldnt find anything on this, but what do the colours mean on the ddr selection? like green, blue, yellow, and red...what are those for?

I think green are Extreme songs, Yellow are past songs that are now converted into ddr, Reds are the crazy insain ones, Blues are past DDR songs, I dont know what purpley is though...

I think they are:
green - songs new for that mix
blue - songs repeated from previous mixes
yellow - unlocked songs
purple - songs with challenge steps
red - extra stage/one more extra stage

Pink - New preview songs (Home version only)
Orange - New preview songs (Home version only)

Max2:
Green - New songs for Max2

Yellow - 1st-5th mix songs
Pruple - Unlocked songs
Red - Extra stages/special unlocks
Light Green - Preview songs/new special songs (Home version only)

Max1:
Green - New songs for Max1
Purple - Unlocked songs
Red - Extra stages/special unlocks

5th mix:

Yup, it looks like cfusionpm has got it down pat.

(At least for 5th Mix, Max2, & Extreme -- I've never played MAX1 so I wouldn't know that one for sure).

Yes it's true, I've never played "Flash in the Night" or "Bye Bye Baby Baloon" on a dance pad / platform.
