How come in the new SM version? (demo replay mode off maybe)

ok, like when you choose the song and it plays it. On the screen w/ the wheel. How come now it starts playing around 1/2 a second before it use to? On the older SM it played it during the right part of the song V_v...now this one plays it 1/2 a second before so that theres like a lil drumroll most of the time and then the main part of the song ya know?

ya alright some guy told me that its the demo replay mode and its set a lil back from the previous version. so How do I switch the one on here to the way the old one was V_v?
