Someone once told me that Konami got sued by the original singer of this song or something for a copyright infridgement, and its the reason the song never appeared on future mixes apart from first. Anyone know what I am talking about? |

Given that the song IS on Dancemania CDs, and thus has a good chance of being included in the standard licensing agreement, I have no idea why they'd sue Konami over it.
And it WAS on 2nd and 3rd Mix - although you had to switch to 2nd Mix mode to play it on a 3rd machine.
I think this is just one of those random rumors that get floated and have no basis in reality. _________________

My theory on this is because it didn't continue on any other mixes besides those 2 because Konami didn't feel like paying for it's licensing anymore. Too bad though, it was one of my all time favorite songs. _________________

They make Naoki take it out of the game. They told him you had better "because you might get shot." And then Naoki screamed like a girl (because he looks like a girl) and that was that. _________________

This might just be another rumor but it makes a lot of sense...
I had heard the song was licensed through the Dancemania channels and everything was hunky dory. But one of the artists was at an arcade or amusment park at one point, and heard their song on the dance machine, and didn't really like it so they asked for it to be removed.
Now of course, initially the story doesn't make sense because you'd think the band would know their own song was in DDR.
But in some dutch interview with Me & My a couple years ago, they brought out DDR and asked them what they thought about it. Me & My thought it was neat and knew that Dub I Dub was in the game... but they acted suprised when they saw "So Many Men" in the game as well, they didn't know it was included. And then, So Many Men disappeared from DDR too. hmmmm. lol.
Regardless of wether or not that's the reason So Many Men is in DDR anymore, it goes to show that sometimes the Artists aren't always aware their songs are in DDR. _________________

... then again the artists don't have any power over what songs are in DDR. It's all about whoever owns the rights to the songs, and the artists usually don't -- their publishers do. If an artist doesn't like their song being in DDR, it's probably tough shit for them.
Strictly Business was probably removed from DDR because it wasn't popular enough to justify paying for it. That's usually the reason a lot of licensed songs are removed. Just because we all like Strictly Business, doesn't mean that they care in Japan. Also, Konami doesn't listen to dj 8-ball either. |

There are many songs that were only featured in 1 DDR mix. Such as Moonlight Shadow. I doubt there was any real lawsuit. Just a song that never made it into another mix or at least not yet. |

What about the Cube and Radical Faith? They were both KOs and they ONLY APPEARED IN 5TH. Konami can pull any and every song they damn well please, it's only logical they do it more frequently with licenses, since KOs don't cost them anything. _________________
