I found this site with much trouble, but these pads seem comprible to red octane ignition II pads and are about a third the price. Shipping costs a bit . . . but still. They have arcade wiring, 1 inch foam inserts (dense foam, not the cheap stuff) and raised buttons for step contrast.

http://www.levelsix.com/products/playstation2/deluxeDDR_v21.shtml ^ thats the site for the pads themselves . . . levelsix.com also has many other good, cheap game accessories among other stuff . . . thumb.gif

Those kinds of pads probably will work for quite a while. When you're not playing DDR make sure they're not walked over or anything. The foam will slowly flatten over time, no matter how thick, so you don't want to add to that when you're not playing. riiight.gif

My friend has 2 levelsix pads and they are VERY CLOSE to RO pads but not quite there (there is a reason RO pads cost as much as they do). Although the next soft pad I get will be levelsix. (Basically what your paying for in Red Octane is the logo. laugh.gif )

1 - The raised buttons are lower than RO
2 - they last about 5/6 as long as RO (pretty good considering the price)
3 - sometimes there are ghost steps (5-10 ghost steps in every 20th song or so)

They can be better, I'd sure as hell get these next time BECAUSE they are so much cheaper. But if your gonna get a pad from here look at this one (this is the one my friends has) http://www.levelsix.com/products/playstation2/deluxeDDR_v31.shtml

Go to the middle of the page to see the pad as the top one is computer generated. I also saw that each pad came with 2 sets of foam (Dense and normal). Don'y get the RO Ignition 2 look-alike because it is like konami's crappy "ignition" where the face of the pad is made out of this poopy plastic (like what some people put on there tables).
