Would you consider DDR a sport or not. NEW EVIDENCE REVEALED

If any body has paid attention, (probably only me) at the end of the credits on DDRMax2 for PS2, it has Konami Sports something. Just thought i'd point that out and see what type of answers i get

It could be a "sport". Not like baseball or anything...I mean some people use DDR to workout. One of my friends is in college and he uses DDR to workout. So, it could be a sport for people who want to workout.....

This is just my opinion though.

I mean, hey if Konami is saying it's a sport, then I can declare whatever I want a sport.

actually any Video Game is considered a sport in Korea. Korea rocks.

I think it was a gaming magazine or some DDR source. i cant really remember but i'm pretty sure it was sumthin like game informer or somethin.

As far as I can tell, the Konami sports contribution to DDRMAX2 is for the Workout mode (notice the logo on the workout config screen).

Its still considered a Bemani game, I'm guessing Konami Sports helped with the workout tracker or calorie counter math.

As for whether DDR is a sport, it depends on what your definition is and since I've seen previous "discussions" on the issue, I won't weigh in.

workout =! sport

I could pick up a really heavy object and move it to the next room, was it excercise? yes, is it a sport? no. just because something incorperates excercise, doesn't make it a sport.

well by definition anything competetive is a sport, even spelling bee's im guessing ddr could be one if it was competetive, but the other definition of sport is physical exercise

DDR is a sport to me because its the only workout/exercise I get besides walking and running....

I know when you do working out mode in Max(not sure about max2)but it says Konami sports.I think they have DDR in like a Gym or something.But thats just a theory.

The rule is step on the arrow on the pad when the moving arrow matches up with the stationary arrow. You can use your hands and butt if you feel like it, but most of the time it's with your feet.
