Now, I have for my PS1 2 memory cards and a pocketStation, and they all store both English and japanese games. Can the Playstation 2 memory card also hold Japanese and American games at the same time?

I don't think they can have both on them, because when I bought a JPS2 memory card, the clerk said that you can only save Japanese game data on them. I haven't tried to save an American game data, though, so it may not be true.

It's not. I've got files from both regions on the same card. Just about everything that's not a game works with any region PS2. Not to sure about HDDs or network adaptors, though.

I've heard the network adapters aren't fully interchangeable. It's probably got something to do with differing telephone line standards. I suspect hard drives would be neutral, though. If someone can find me a utility to create a PS2 filesystem on an IDE drive, I'll happily give it a try.
