hi, ive been stuck at 9s for like the last 8months or so, i cant pass any 10s, not even sakura or bag =( and my PA sux as much as it did probably like 8months ago, so im not getting any better at that, so im pretty much like 70%PA doing 9s on 1.5x for a very very long time, and its still kinda fun but i think ive reached my limit at DDR, so should i quit? |

Yeah, you should retire or take some time off or something. If you feel you accomplished what you wanted, do it. If your not doin well, take some time off and come back. And I don't mean by just a day maybe a week. _________________

You could always try playing with mods like Sudden, Shuffle, and Hidden. Or move to Double, if you haven't already. |

Well... Usually when i seem like i'm not improving... I just kinda take a break for awhile... Then I would come back later and regain my interest in playing again... I dunno why you would quit just cuz you're not getting better... I mean... that's really not a good reason to quit... lol My friend said once that he would quit DDR because he thought school would get in the way... but he came back to play again after the summer _________________

Just go back and play the fun songs, that's what I do. When I get tired of playing difficult songs and pies I'll just play Let's Groove on Standard and spin my heart out. _________________

I have been playing for the past 7 months and I still can't pass 8 footers consistently. You just gotta keep on playing and you will improve. Never quit, it will only make things worse. Improvement rarely happens in a timely manner. Improvement is something you must keep on driving for even if you don't seam to be getting anywhere. The ability to keep on playing and ignore discouragment is what seperates for example: A person who is really good at playing the guitar and a person who doesn't play guitar that often. |

thanks for the replies, they were very nice, right now i just play for fun pretty much, but the problem is that i dont know anybody that plays so not having any ddr friends makes it not as fun , u know what i mean? so i guess ill just play like once a week or so whenever i go to the arcade because i go by there pretty much at least once a week, ok thats all |

dont quit!!!
the whole point of heavy/maniac mode is for the ppl who are bored wit standard. If you dont like the catas, then go back to standard/trick for a while. Standard in my opinion, is my favorite mode. steps not too hard, not too easy. so either take a break, or go back to standard/trick. _________________

Can I play and pass 10-footers myself yes, and quite well....but I'm not a big competitor for PA...I prefer the "Dance" part of Dance Dance Revolution. my actual difficulty level if you had to associate me with one would probably be Paramount (7 footer for the new schoolers )
I can PA Catas and what not with the best of them....but I prefer the Freestyling...if you've lost touch on how to have fun when playing the game because you are too into trying to pass the 10-footer without even enjoying the song that comes along with the steps...this will give you the feeling to quite
so in the famous words of the Paranoia Cheerleader....

That has to be the most true statement I have ever heard. _________________
