(Devil's advocate time)
Well, there are actually a few good things that could come about from having Michael Jackson songs on DDR. Set aside all of the crap he has done to kids and the black man/white woman transformation he's made.
1) Face it. Michael Jackson has some great f-n music out there. Pretty Young Thing, Wanna Be Startin' Something, as well as about 1/2 of his songs written before 1994 would be excellent for DDR (and any other rhythm game out there).
2) Putting Michael Jackson music in DDR would definitely attract people older than 16 or 17. I don't know how old most of y'all are, but there's a thread asking how many people here play with their parents. Placing Smooth Criminal in a DDR mix would definitely attract more of the moms and dads out there to DDR than would, say, Cow Girl.
3) Some of this guy's music would be great for all levels of DDR-ers out there. n00bs could sing along while playing and lots of spins and side-to-side motions could be put in for Heavy singles players. Doubles.......WOOOOOO, that'd be a crapload of fun. You could do all kinds of spins, more nice side-to-side motions (even the Thriller ZOMBIE DANCE), and.........THE MOONWALK!!!! (now SOMEONE out there tell me that they wouldn't love moonwalking to a MJ song and hitting the steps with Perfects while doing so)
I'm done. Someone should have fun disagreeing with something. |

No, I don't think they should put any of this songs in the game at all. For one thing, I'm sure trying to get even one of his songs would be a licensing nightmare right from the start. Also, I don't think that many people like him as they used to or his songs either. I wouldn't see it as an advantage at all to have him in the game. I think it would do more harm than good. _________________

Actually one. "Smooth Criminal" is the Alien Ant Farm version. Well....yeah I guess it's his song, but it's not quite the same, y'know?
Michael Jackson makes some cool music even though he's a freak of nature. I wouldn't mind it. _________________

(Look what I did)
Seriously...a LOT of his songs would be great for DDR, if for nothing but freestylin' (see my post above). |

All of his songs got a very good beat to it, and would be perfect for DDR songs...I mean, come on, wouldn't it be nice to dance to Billie Jean wearing a shiny glove, glowing in the pitch black arcade?[/michaeljacksonfandom] |
