When I tried to PM Phrekwenci using the PM button on his name I got the following error:
Ran into problems sending Mail. Expected: 250, got: 553 5.3.0 ... User unknown _________________

I'm having the same issue, but only with Phrekwenci. It is probably solely due to his email address having issues.

Hmm, I think you're going to give Phrekwenci's PM box the post bug. I'd get messages like that whenever I'd post a message and then the thread got the post bug.
Hmm, an idea to fix the post bug... permanently disable any mail routines ("notify me," etc.). That, or make the mailing the very last thing done, after incrementing post count, writing the post to the database, etc. |

I got the same error when I tried to PM Phrekwenci. Even though it got an error he still got the PM and answered it somehow... |

phpBB doesn't use SMTP to transfer PMs...That's all handled in the database. The error was just an SMTP error indicating (for whatever reason) that an attempt to send e-mail notification to the user resulted in the mail server responding with "Unknown addressee".
It says "Expected code 250". SMTP 250 is effectively "OK", meaning that the recipient mailbox is valid, and that the server can start sending the message. 55x means that the recipient specified doesn't exist.
So, either Don changed his e-mail address with DDRFreak and mistyped the account name, or his mail server has puked. _________________

I did change my email address from [email protected] to [email protected] because Don@ was on my personal server and just recently, my exchange drive has just disappeared. So, when people send messages to Don@, it creates error messages on my server because that account doesn't work.
But, I am not sure if the problem is with my end, I got the same error trying PM people a few nights ago, I think.
But I'll be getting my permanent email address soon, once rampage gives me the Ok about [email protected]. So we will see if there is any problems then.

Your email is [email protected], not [email protected]
Edit: Oops, i guess it's not either. I must have messed up in adding the account. _________________
