New Here, Friend of Landluver, Got a Question

Hey Guys I am new here and im a friend of Landluver....I am kind of a nub to DDR I played for about an hour with Landluver and another person and I flat out sucked, That was in May. I went Last night and I was able to beat Drop The Bomb, Nori Nori Nori, and Look At Us very easily because of me playing Step Mania and DWI a lot...We played for about 2 1/2 hours. Then today I thought I would try and step it up to Standard. I played The Whistle Song, Nori Nori Nori, Look at Us.....Wasn't even close on LAU, was okay at NNN, and I was 4 steps from beating The Whistle Song....We played for about 4 1/2 hours or so....My friends (which only play Heavy) said Im getting much better but my problem is the 3 step beats with the < ^ > , >^<, ^\/<, and so on.....Any Tips?
