My friend says I should stop playing DDR because it is losing support and it's out of style. First of all, I never thought that it was in style. I just did it cause none of my friends else would play it, and that's when I got hooked. So what do you think? Is DDR losing it's popularity in the US? |

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as there are machines nearby to play on or home versions in existence there will be DDRers for a very long time, it has been on a slow decline, but since it was never very popular to begin with it really only has more popularity to gain.
Play it because its fun, or if you're like me, for the excersize. _________________

DDR may be losing it in japan, but i know that freak is busier then it was last year (damn slowness), i see more and more light/standard players now then i did 2 months ago, and that people where I live (and we're sheltered) are actually upgrading and letting us throw tournaments...It's definitely not dying in the states. _________________

I think konami has killed freestyle.. straying from dance music and turning it into a pop'n music-ish genre, but now we have lots of tech. I think freestyle has been on the decline, but tech has reached a peak, with people single digiting / AAAing just about everything here and there. |

From my observations, I think it's getting bigger in the US than it is in Japan. |

Who cares if it is? It'll still be around in arcades for a long time as I'm sure arcade managers are going to be milking it for all it's worth. |

It comes and goes? i used to play loads, then i stopped and now i've started again (over a number of years). So i dont think it is losing its popularity. I think DDR has become more mainstream if anything, well in the UK anyways. |

I never said I was going to stop playing, I just want some people to play with. Kinda gets boring after seeing the same faces over and over and over again. |

osirisZERO where do you live?
Was DDR ever popular or "in style" to begin with?
I've been playing for a bit over a year now, and I've seen LOADS more people everyday out here in Colorado getting up on the machine and playing. It seems that every week I find a n00b who is real into the game and actually gets quite good.
As for me, I won't stop playing unless I can no longer find a machine to play on, both of my playstations blow up, or I die. Until then.... DDR FOR LIFE!! _________________
