since this is one o my fav ddr songs, i finally discovered a number of artists that had done different versions of it...
i was wondering if any1 knew the story behind all of this...i assume it's yet another one of those songs that was remixed for ddr, but if any1 could tell me about the original artist, or any good remixes worth dling, id appreciate it.

The original artist was Mike Oldfield and his sister Sally. This song was made a long time ago, but I'm not sure when. You should look it up on Kazaa. If you have that.

Mike Oldfield WAS the original artist, but Groove Coverage's version of it is pretty good too. I think I have all the different versions of that song... laugh.gif

Groove Coverage's version is by far the best out of all the remakes... all the songs Groove Coverage make are.... excellent. The End, God is a Girl, Are U Ready? are all great songs...

Also, if you wanna hear a nicer version of Shooting Star then the one by BANG!, try finding the version by FLIP & FILL, it's very nice and trancey and overall better than BANG!s version....

Is the trance version of Shooting Star one of those 7-9 minute long trance songs? Or is it kept to a reasonable length? Anytime I hear one of those songs it drives me crazy because it takes forever to get going, then I stop paying attention to it and the next thing I know it's over. For some reason, I can take the 8 minute Ordinary World Above and Beyond Mix, though.

Hmm... Shooting Star by Flip & Fill is about.. 4 minutes long regular and 5+ minutes in any trance collection...

I can stand music forever... as long as it's good, I can stand like, 20 minute songs even.

I have to disagree here. The best version of Shooting Star was done by BANG! and remixed by Force & Styles. Also, not that it's of any real importance, but the version of Shooting Star that appears in DDR is the Euro Mix. Now, it's not a Eurobeat version, don't go confusing the issue. I think they simply meant by that subtitle that this was the version meant to appeal to the general European audience.

As for Moonlight Shadow, the version that appears in DDR by Missing Heart is not a DDR remix. It wasn't made for DDR. It was made by Missing Heart, Konami simply chopped out about 3 additional minutes of the song for it to fit DDR's time constraints. Also, I may be incorrect about this and can't remember where I got this idea from, but I think that Missing Heart is some sort of side project of E-Rotic. If anyone can clarify this matter, please do, I'd like to know the truth.

If the version by BANG! remixed by Force & Styles is the Happy Hardcore version, to that I have to say... goog.gif It just didn't interest me. But if it' a different version, then I'll definetely have to listen to it sometime biggrin.gif

And I believe Euro Version means Eurodance, no? Eurodance is like... danceable techno, I guess... Eurobeat is like.... really fast...

And yea, Missing Heart was like... a former lead singer of E-Rotics next band thing.. which I guess flopped? laugh.gif

It's still happycore, and it's beautiful. As far as what Euro means....... it's like I said, the version of Shooting Star that appears in DDR is called the Euro Mix for no apparent reason, but if you don't believe me, just check out the next generation records website. That's the mix's name. I don't know why they named it that, it's not Eurobeat or Eurodance or Eurotechno or anything like that. I guess they just felt like calling it that. Oh well. A funnier name discrepancy is in Vol. 4. Ravers Choice is a record label, and vol. 4 is the name of the white label record that had that song on it. It's possible that this song was never released on anything but white label, making the actual name of the song hard to find out, but that's WAAAAAAAAAY off topic.

Glad to know I heard right about Missing Heart. The move makes sense if you think about it. Even if you like singing about sex, being contractually obligated to do so can't be fun. E-Rotic even did a few less raunchy songs with Winner Takes All and I Wish You Were Here et al. I like Moonlight Shadow's sound, any more songs of theirs I should be on the lookout for?
