I know that Japan runs on a slightly different voltage than the US, but is it enough to where I'd need a converter to run my J-PS2 on a 110v socket safely?
Edit: Well I guess I've got my answer, and I've been running my PS2 for 4 days now practically nonstop. Yay for IIDX _________________

The voltage is indeed different, but unlike it's ancestor, the PS2 only takes the energy it needs, therefore it's safe to plug in directly. _________________

I've had my first PS2 since a little after the Japanese Launch. I have yet to fry it out. with my new ones I unplug them when I'm not using them.... _________________

Add one more to the count of people telling you that its OK to plug a J-PS2 into an American electrical outlet without a converter.
I've had mine since December...no frying yet! _________________

Add one more. I've had mine over a year. I even leave it plugged in all the time. It's still perfectly happy. |
