I agree with you on the part that most people who plays DDR loved anime, too. But for me, even though I love anime, I wasn't really into the DDR even if I had PC version of it. Well, I guess it's because I only had game but no pad, thus I didn't have chance to dance with the songs. But when I found out that the arcade in Citadel Mall near my place had DDR:Max2, I tried it and I loved it! So now, I have all the OSTs for DDR series and I sometimes go play it in the arcade. Even though I am not up to the heavy level, I play some easy ones on heavy, like slow ones. But when I tried MaxX Unlimited on heavy, oh man, was it hard....
So for me, anime actually didn't have much thing to do with me, although I think I am from Asia, it could be the reason. _________________

All of my friends who play ddr are also into anime, I seem to be the exception though, personally, I really can't stand anime.
The FF series is ok... but far from being my favorite RPG. |

I have a friend who loves anime, but kinda hates DDR. As for me, i think anime's OK, i'm just not obsessed with any of it like some people are. I have a few classic anime films on DVD and that's it. |

most people who play ddr are nerds.
most nerds like anime.
therefore, many ddr players like anime.
simple.
im personally not an anime fan. the only ones ive found interesting are akira and ghost in the shell. all the slapstick-based humor, totally random, implausable love stories, and overall "silly" nature of most of them really annoy me. some of the more serious ones are ok at best, but nothing near godlike, as some people claim. _________________

My theory is that to like DDR-
1-You have to like video games.
2- You have to like new, innovative quirky games. Most of Which come from Japan (duh)
Once you get aquainted with part of the Japaneese culture, you want to try a lot more new things (ie sushi, Pocky, anime/manga). I am personally ready to live in Japan
So either anime led you to ddr, or ddr led you to anime. or maybe just your obsession to find a better, more interactive video game.
Wow, once i got to the end that doesn't make much sense at all. I do like anime/manga BTW, Outlaw Star is my favorite, Clover my favorite manga. _________________
