I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I believe it's impossible to run a sim like SM or DWI without at least Win 98.

I used to be in your shoes, and I tried everything but in the end my Max OS X became my friend E1.gif

My best recommendation is to upgrade to 98.

well, the microsoft website requires win98 for 8.0....otherwise i would have it...plus i think this comp is too slow to handle anything anyways (200 mhz, 32mg ram)...pydance wouldnt even run on here, and thats a piece of crap...so f it, i dont care...feel free to lock

thx for tryin to help E4.gif

actually, there is a version of DX8 for Win95. I had it on a CD somewhere...My comp upstairs runs Win95 (P2 200mhz, 80MB RAM, 3dfx Voodoo 1) and it seems to have the more superior sound system so I've been trying to get SM to run on it.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm

If you use Windows 95, this is the latest version of DirectX you can install; it supports the majority of games that run effectively on that operating system.
