I'm bored...

I've seen the DWI's for "Guillaume Tell" (Sp...) and "Radetsky March" in TM4, thinking about how great these would be in Dance Dance official... Heck, I can see the beginner dancers hitting the right arrow three times during the chorus in Radetsky. Would it be possible for Konami to use these tracks as Bemani songs? Or is there too much lisencing hassle?

Licensing classical songs is pretty much a nonissue....most are old enough to be public domain. AFAIK, specific performances are copyrighted, but the music itself isn't. So yes, it's theoretically possible for these songs to appear in DDR. Would they have the DWI steps or anything remotely similar? Doubtful.

Ah, yes, the Radetzky March. My dad's favorite classical piece, and probably my favorite classical march. Awesome, great for DDR. Especially if they set the beat to the quarter note (the song is written in cut time; in other words, 2/2), it'd be a nice, fast, difficult, fun song. Well, one can only hope...

He's referring to a Dancemania CD named "Classical SPEED".

And if you need to really ask if it would be too much of a hassle for Konami to license the songs, note track#4, which was licensed for DDR Extreme. Which is why Classical Speed appears in the Dancemania ad in Extreme in the Arcade.
