DDR type glitch discovered?

I don't really know if this has been discovered, nor do I care. I found it on my own.

Press the left and right selection arrows in the song selection screen and while the menu changes, press right right on the ddr pad. you should now hear NO music. yep, it's kinda freaky.

why is this going to attract flamers?

neways, i tried it today and it works. just change the song sort and quickly go to the edit steps and the music will stop. its pretty cool, i dont hafta sit and listen to a song clip over and over again while im catching my breath between songs.

Yeah, no flames from me, man.

To prevent hearing a music clip over and over when I catch my breath, I sometimes moved the selector to "Roulette" just because it was the quietest tune in the bunch. I'd still have to watch the clock and go back to the desired song in time.

I never thought about using the edit steps' selector to stop the song before. I know that when time does run out, and no edit steps are selected, the song will play the original steps for whatever difficulty mode you were at before selecting edit.

So, thanks for the tip. I will use it.

geeze its called edit mode, put in a memorie card wit hjapaneese edit steps and there is your answer.

*sigh* not every god damn machine has a memory card slot. are you implying that the music turns off when you go to edit mode with memory card slots??

ok. some of you guys don't seem to be understanding, so im going to try to explain.
normally, stepping on the right arrow twice will take you to the edit steps menu but the music clip of the song will keep playing. however, if you press left+right to sort the songs then quickly shift over to the edit steps selection, the music stops. as in there no music clip of the song repeating over and over again. something that normally doesn't happen in the edit steps selection screen

That's a cool tip because sometimes, you just wanna turn the music down so you can talk for a second or whatever, without having the music blaring.

people are soo blatently retarted..hes giving u a cool "easter egg" type thing and u guys are screaming and yelling that its dumb. dont use it if u dont like it. stfu and sit down. i, for one, will thank doc because i dont wanna listen to the same clip of music (which most of the time isnt the best part of the song) repetadly. so thanks doc!

it's funny how this could have been just a normal thread but then someone hasta act like they are a mod and start talking about flaming and locking topic and yeh.. it's stupid.

Anywho, next time I go to the arcade I'm tryin your little thing. And I dunno about you guys but when i double tap right and go into the edit steps window it still plays the music of the last song my cursor was over. So

When I did this on an Extreme, we just went "Erm" and then carried on choosing the songs

i went to the arcade today and tried this little trick out again, but this time i did it with a song that had edit steps too. i switched over to the edits and the music stopped, but when i went over one of the edit steps a different song played (it was edits to kind lady and it was playing abyss) i tried it on a couple different songs and got the same result but with a different song playing... weird.
