Not sure if this is the right forum or not, sorry if it isn't.

I have a Cyphergames/Golden Bell/Gamesdepot metal pad that recently stopped working. The problem is that the lights light up when you step on the panels, but there is no response in the game. It doesn't matter whether I use my PSX, Stepmania CVS, SM3.0, DWI, whatever, I get the same result. I have quadruple checked every setting and whatnot on my PC and that's definitely not the problem. What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

I took off the panels and looked at em and didn't see anything that I thought was a problem. All the wires looked like they were connected OK. I'm no electronics expert though, and neither is my dad.

I find it really odd that it lights up and everything but there's no response in games. I even tried going into Control panel-->gaming options and checked the controller there. It showed up as OK in the list, but when I tried to remap keys I got the same problem: no response from the panels. I'm desperate to fix this, without DDR I am nothing. E2.gif E2.gif E2.gif I definitely can't replace this pad anytime soon because it cost $140 and that's an awful lot of money for someone with no income. Any insight anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. E1.gif

I hate to say this, but this happened to me and it was due to the main controller board crapping out on me. The only thing which saved the pad was replacing the board with another controller board taken from a soft pad.
