This is yet another thing i'm curious about. When you're AAAing a song, and you realize it, what do you do? The furthest I've gotten is about half way through Love <3 Shine with a AAA, then i realized it, and GREAT! it's gone -_-..and i was just curious to read about your mindsets a) at the start b) during the AAA attempt, and c) nearing the end of the song with said AAA intact... drool.gif

My mindset for beginning, during, and end:

DON'T THINK.

It may seem simple or stupid, but when you think "OMG, i have a AAA going so far!"

BAM! you get a great, and your screwed.

I have about 15-20 Heavy AAA's, and I'd say just to relax, and concentrate on the beat of the song rather than watching the little yellow words flashing on the screen, and screaming when you see the green one.

Yeah, I count in my head too, but I am watching the pulsating casting at the top of the machine to keep the beat. The only other thing that runs through my mind is what I want to eat that day.

I freak out, sadly. I almost had that same AAA on Love <3 Shine, but I had to start trying to step more carefully, since I guess I thought that all the Perfects I'd been getting were just flukes, and of course messed myself up. Ah well. ^^

At home on MAX USA, I've gotten numerous AAA's on Light/Standard, no sweat. Thanx to Ignition Pads for one.

Do a song, like o say, Midnite Blaze, My Generation, Ordinary World, 1 great!?!?! frust.gif I can AAA that song. *Does again and AAA's*

Now at arcade I've only AAA'ed 2 songs, I realized it, but I just kept calm, and I was like, I can celebrate AFTER I get the AAA. So far I've AAA'ed I Feel... and Celebrate Nite in the Arcade both on Light.

i ususally play the beat of the arrows in my head, or with my breathing patterns, or by clicking my teeth back and forth. other than that, i try not to think about anything OR i convince myself that ive probably already gotten a great, and it takes off the pressure of getting a AAA

You're not supposed to expect a AAA... You have to think of each arrow throughout the song.

I used to always think to myself, "YAY! I just AAAed the song" I would either get a couple greats in the last steps or get a N.G. on the final freeze.

Now I just concentrate on the music and forget about everything else.

I take it 1 step at a time, and concentrate on getting Perfects!! and listening to the beat/rhythm of the music.

it really depends on what song it is. if its something that i would consider impressive i get kinda exited about half to 3 quarters of the way in the song and kind of gradually concentrate harder throughout the end of the song and try to contain my exitement. if its something easy that i've already gotten close too i just do the concentrating thing without the exitement.

You are soooooo right. Seems like whenever I notice I haven't gotten a great yet and start thinking like "wow, this is easy" I get a great right at that moment. It always happens on attempting light AAA's too. The MOMENT I think about it, I get a great. I try to listen to my feet and think of something else while I'm playing, but keeping a close eye on the arrows going over the white arrows. I use the tips of the arrows and when I see they are about to connect I stomp the arrow (actually i dont stomp, you know, just kinda motion your foot downward onto, it, ya know, whatever).

I definately try not to think about it. Usually if I say to myself something like "yay i'm going to AAA it" then i'll get a great. laugh.gif So I just try to keep focused on the steps and staying on beat.

"one-and-two-and-three-and-four-and- ..."

... seems to help me, but my PA sucks. I have 0 AAA's of any flavour (well, Twilight Zone light at home, but I don't count that E1.gif ). The closest I've been is 9 greats on Nori Nori Nori standard and 5 greats on Blonde Girl standard ...

When I first was in the middle of AAAing a song I noticed I hadnt got a great so far...the more the song went on the more i started to pay attention to the perfects coming up on screen, the less attention i payed to counting the beat. Lol, then i got a great E15.gif

Ever since, Ive learned myself just to turn my brain off to what step rating I'm getting, and to concentrate a lot more on the beat and steps of the song. Its worked ever since, and I've gotten a lot more AAA's that way..

I mostly count in my head,1,2,3,4 when I'm doing heavy and trying to AAA it.But when it comes to Max 300 and Sakura I just like listening and it usaully comes to either a AA or a AAA.
