Looking for paint info...

Any old timers left on these boards? I'm looking for help locating some info that was in on ancient thread that I don't think is around anymore.

Back before there were plans for home-made metal boxes, there were a few plans for plywood boards with cut-outs for arrows and aluminium foil contacts.

Primitive design, I know, but the designer of the plans had painted their surfaces with some sort of really high-gloss paint that looked like a plastic coating.

I wnt to paint the guard rail around my new design with a similar paint, so I was wondering if anyone remembers what the stuff was that the guy used.

Or any advice really on paints that folks have used on their pads.. regualr paint will just smear or flake off over time with all the foot traffic the pad will get, so I'm looking for anything that can be combined or multi-layered that will give a nice, thick, glossy finish to my guard rail.
