Me and my pops are constructing an Arcade Replica floor, from the wheels and floor braces on the bottom to the u bar on the top, but with one small little difference, this pad cases the $20 mats we all know and love. The benifit of this creation is that your mats can still be taken with you for the traveling aspect of them, but there is also a preservation of the mat because the crinkling and sliding will be removed. The project is still in effect being built now. As soon as I get some pics I will gladly post them. TTYL-PO E1.gif

If you're going to built an awesome replica stage complete with floor braces and trick bars, why would you skimp and put in cheapo soft pads? If you want to travel somewhere with your pads, just keep your soft pads separate to take around with you, and build your own arcade-style metal pads into the stage.

Just confused why you'd do that...

well i thought about it to and there are two good reasons.
1: If you hard wire its more expensive at least to do it well.
2: If it breaks its harder to repair.
With the mats it breaks by a new one $20.00
Easy repairs. Not too bad plus the mats will actually last alot longer.

Yeah, and it'll probably only cost you $10 to fix it if the hardwiring fails you. So you get screwed out of $20 buying a new soft pad. Just do it right, soft pads are horrible anyways. I don't see how you can make an arcade replica when the pads are the majority of your interaction with the machine.
