Ok, the title of your thread has nothing to do with what you posted. 
As for which one is better, just download them both and see which one you like better. It's not that hard to read readme's, and there's at least one thread on here listing the major differences between the two.

I prefer Stepmania...I think the interface is far superior because it comes much closer to actually simulating DDR, where as DWI feels more like a computer rip-off of it.

If you need a tutorial read the SIM FAQ
But obviously you didn't read ANYTHING because DWI vs SM is not allowed to be discussed. Downloaded both and find out which one you like better. They are both free.
