This is for serious posters only--I am 5'5, and weigh about 135, and know that I could weigh less. My ideal weight would be about 120, but I can settle for 125. I don't need to have rock hard abs, or that kind of crazy body, but I want to have a flat stomach. So, my question is, in addition to DDR, what do people suggest as a good diet to go along with. I want something that has 3 meals a day, because I don't like skipping meals and maybe a few healthy snacks. Thanks in advance--nothing super-specific, just some guidelines. |

DDR seems to keep my weight steady... i pretty much eat what i want, when i want but my weight is only increasing because i'm growing in height as well.. when i stopped playing DDR for a few weeks i gained 10lb, then when i started playing regularly again it went back to normal.. It really depends on the level you play at, and the amount of exercise you get _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

You are close enough to your target weight that just diet and DDR aren't going ot help wyou with problem areas unless they are your legs. DDR is good at exercising legs. It's not good at exercising the abs. To get rid of the last trouble areas (And if you are talking about the last 10 lbs to target weight, you are) then you will have to find exercises that target those areas. Diet alone won't help you loose the weight where you want to.
Also remember that making that final bit of tummy go away is very hard. Don't use that as an indication that you aren't already at your target weight (I'm 5'5" and my target weight is 135. )
But since you asked for diets, I just calorie count, making sure that I get a nice mix of foods and veggies. I eat alot of lean cuisine diet foods, since they have a nice blance of foods for not many calories. Make sure that you don't eat too little as well as not eating too much. |

I haven't lost any weight (to my knowledge... my scale is screwy) via DDR, but I *have* toned up my legs, butt and stomach (geez I sound like an infomercial) a LOT in say... 3 weeks. I've also built up my endurance a fair deal. I attend a college with a rather expansive, uphill campus that requires a good deal of hiking to get to one's classes, and for the three years I went there, I always ended up panting and puffing by the time I got to class even if I walked slowly. After playing DDR everyday for about 3 weeks before school I found I was walking faster than the other students and got there without feeling exhausted.
If you want to work on your stomach via DDR, I would suggest playing songs that require a lot of jumps/touching two buttons at once after each other... At least when I play, I twist at the waist in mid-air to plant my feet on the next spots. I mean, if you eat lightly and do DDR a *lot*, you're bound to get some kind of improvement. However you really are in that last 10-15 pound area which is the hardest to get off... I on the other hand am about 30 pounds over the 'average weight' thing, so that's a factor to my success.
Eat lots of veggies and fruit. If you're hungry, EAT. If you're not, don't. It's amazing how much less a person can eat when they don't eat just 'cuz they see a sign for food or have some spare change. Oh, and drink diet sodas. Or water. Drinking diet soda instead of the regular stuff made me lose 5 pounds without doing any sort of exercise at all. @_@ _________________
