Thought I'd share it, since the pad works better than ever.

For the mod, you need:
1: 4 ft by 4 ft (1/4 in thick) piece of plywood
1: adhesive carpet pad (should fit carpets between 4 ft and 6 ft wide and long)
1: soft pad
1: roll of good packaging tape or duct tape

First, take the adhesive carpet pad and stick it to the plywood. The long side of the pad should hang over both sides about 3 inches. Now, CAREFULLY peel the plastic wrap off the 3 inches of excess on the bottom. Cover the pad with packaging tape. Repeat with the other 3 inches of excess. Now, flip the pad over and slide on the plastic in some socks to get the adhesive to stick well.

Next, peel the plastic off the top. Carefully lay your soft pad on the adhesive. Tape the edges down. Cover the adhesive with packaging tape. If you want, you can cover the pad with a thick plastic so you can use your shoes, or use a wire to line the arrows so you can feel where they are. You can also trim the plywood down so it doesn't take up so much space.

So far, the pad works well. No more missteps cause the pad slid!

Upsides: Pad responds better, doesn't slip, lets you play on carpet without pad, sounds like you're playing in the arcade

Downsides: Heavy, takes up lots of space, hard to transport

Let me know what you think of it. Enjoy! E13.gif

I'll try to get some pics up. But it looks like a beat pad on an adhesive pad. The pad sides are taped onto the plywood. My friend, however, thinks it looks like a cardboard mess. But it works.

I can't guarantee the pics anytime soon, cause I don't have access to a digital camera or a scanner.
