need help with modded *brand new* pad

i basically did tommy guns mod, without the clear covers, since i couldnt find anywhere that sells them.

i tested my new dance mat, pressed the keys a bit to check if everything was working etc, then did the tommy gun mod. (got my wood, put the double sided sticky tape on it, put the dance mat on top, and used the black gaffer tape to seal all the edges.)
and as soon as i finsihed, i tested it again... just to see that im now getting ghost keys...

anyone knows what i did wrong?

It might be the pad itself, maybe it was ghoststepping prior to mod, but you hadn't noticed it? I know you said everything was working, but this could still happen? Or maybe while you were moving it or whatever, it possibly bunched or the wiring inside moved..
Ghost = keys keep firing off? If this is it (i dunno. lol) then probably the tape is pulling or applying pressure on a arrow.
