Restoring the "shine" of a mymybox metal pad

I've cleaned my metal mymybox pads many times before. I usually use water...maybe that's why...but now whenever I play, I get this annoying squeaking sound and it's not nearly as "slippery" (not like it was...but for the lack of a better word) as it used to be. How do I get that back? Like what should I use to clean it? Because the more I wipe it down, the worst it gets. And I work in an ice cream shop so my shoes are covered with ice cream when I come home then the ice cream gets on the pad if I forget to wipe down my shoes... Thanks for your help guys.

ummm Vietgurl... do you play Counter strike? Cause I have seen someone with your SN on CS before. Well anyways use Pledge metal shine, err, whatever the hell its called, it makes metal shiny though.

Don't use water. Water takes the shine out of metal. It depends on what you can get ahold of to clean it with. I can guarantee you that degreasing cleaner would be the best. I worked at McDonalds years ago and they have this industrial strength degreaser that works great on the french fry machines because they'd get VERY greasy from the fryer and salt. I'm sure they sell something like that in stores, just not quite as strong. Since your metal pad is electronic you don't want to spray any liquid directly on it. Take a paper towel or rag and squirt the cleaner on there first (just a little goes a long way) and then wipe the pad off with it.

I think there were posts in either metal/homemade pad thread about what people use to shine their pad.

ARGH I can't remember, nor find the post. It was either by Bluebeefman, ps2freak, or ddrhomepad... Do you need to shine the metal or the acrylic?

i was reading through the posts then kinda gave up...too many pages, lol

the acryllic...screw the metal. i don't step on that very much anyway.

Yeah, I haven't really found a way to make my panels shiny and new looking, its kind of a bummer that the rest of my CF pad looks so nice....

But, I DID find a good way to make it very smooth and slippery, just play in socks, its like buffing your pad, just don't fall and hurt yourself.
