I know they don't have the best reputation, but I was just thinking of peoples thoughts on this.

Would you like a song in an upcoming DDR that had, say, 2 freeze arrows (LR), and while frozen, had other steps, thereby *forcing* handslaps for a FC?

I'd play it, if it had a good beat and the move fit in well with the beat of the song, I think it would be interesting, if nothing else: forcing freestyling for a FC. (OK so maybe handslaps dont constitute freestyling.) Thoughts?

Those woulnd't force handslaps.

Pump it up has occasions where you must hit tri-arrow-jumps (3 arrows at the same time) and I do them with two feet.

as for steps while 2 arrows are being held, it would be easily done.

Say you were holding L+R and you had to tap down to the beat.

You could simply move your rigth foot down to hit it, and back up to the freeze, followed by the left, etc, without losing the freeze. I believe foyboy has an edit like this.

But we're not all amazing like me, now are we. (Notice the lack of a question mark. Its a rhetorical question. Simply there to let you know we can't be amazing like me.)

there has to be room for error because hardware breaks (ie pads)

It would'nt work because of hardware error, and the fact that the mere shifting of your weight (to get down to do the handslap) would almost definately cause the sensor to become de-activated.

Its just not possible.

never thought about the body weight issue. good point. but not possible to do? to squat down and slap the floor without falling over? hardly impossible.

If the sensor was relaxed enough that you could shift your weight down to the floor and handslap without it deactivating, It woulld be relaxed enough for you to step off for a very brief time then step back on.

We all hate handslaps, it reminds us of bad Freestylers E1.gif
