Okay first of all, I feel really bad saying this:

But every time I go to the arcade I always feel like I'm so cool cuz I'm good at DDR and like I can't help it but I feel sooo cocky like I'm such a big person..

I bet everyone who doesnt play who is watching me probably thinks I'm stupid when I'm not playing and shadowing or what not..

Does anybody else get overwhelmed with cockiness when they go?

OK... Cockiness is one of the things that makes me furious. Why? It's ruined friendships and ruined people's lives...

....It's also my pet peeve so I'll throw in a few things.

1st)I wouldnt feel big being half way decent at an arcade game.
2nd)There are better people out there.
3rd)I wouldnt feel big if I was a 13 year old female either.

3. i know that there are better people than me and its just annoying but i have seen people that are reallly full of them selves cuz they play and they are like 5 footers so yeah plus my brother is JeffreyAtW and his best friend is CaptainCanada so yeah i think i would know that there are better people out there..

Yes. Whoever they are, I bet Tigger, JSB, GPF Lith, and Vegeta can own them with one foot. And I definitely know that Vegeta can because he beat Paranoia Brothers with literally 1 foot.

not really, i find myself usually trying to help others learn to play. and also I HATE when people shadow me, all they usually end up getting is something thrown at them.. thats ALMOST as bad as when they assume they are better than me and play 2 player with me without asking. like at boomers when some guy just finished playing he waited for me to hit start and he immediatly just jumps on and hits start...he THEN acts like the king and starts to pick all the songs..i wasn't really angry at first but then his second song is Cowgirl

keep in mind this is after butterfly

and the worse part is he flailed around so much he hit me in the head about 10 times. I then decided to pick Paranoia Survivor (he failed) then i picked loM (he also failed) then after he was all "uhhhh i got to go" and left. funny how he didn't leave and I saw him for the next 4 hours but he did the same thing to everyone who wasn't better than him and he avoided doing it to me. heh heh heh I taught him a lesson

There's an easy cure for cockiness. Find someone to beat the crap out of you so that you can totally be humble again. It works wonders, trust me. If you prefer a "mature" way of doing it, just accept the fact that you're probably not the best DDR player in the world, so there's no reason to feel all that great. But feel good about your accomplishments, no need to go overboard with that (or anything else in life).

Being cocky doesn't occur when you do well at something. It's how you present yourself to others with prior knowledge that you did well in that thing. If you constantly brag about getting awesome scores, I don't care how good you are... it is cocky. If you constantly complain about sucking, but really are pretty decent... (me) ... it's far worse than cocky.

I guess a thing to consider if you think you are cocky would be... the fact that there are many other people in this world who are murderers, rapists, thieves, and criminals... There are far worse things than being cocky. Who cares about what they think anyway? Why should you care? If they have a problem with something you do, and you don't mean to do it... they can go right back to their dark lonely corner... because until they mature a bit, they aren't going to get anything in life.

Let me say that admitting to yourself that you are good at something is not being cocky.

Cocky is when you dwell on an accomplishment you did, and continue to do that thing with the #1 mindset... presented wonderfully by JSBo0GeNie.

I guess all it boils down to is... don't worry about it. If you care what other people think of you... you'll live your life with so many restrictions, I doubt it could be a very happy one. But, I'm sure that if you give this a good two or three years... you'll realize this yourself anyway.

I dont think there is anything wrong with saying, "yeah i'm pretty good at this game." But to go around and act like you are better than everyone else in the world because you can stomp on a metal box with more precision is fucking dumb.

I love being humbled. I read what hispanic guy, skip, zeus, and Maxx Paranoia accomplish and it makes me feel like a n00b. But provides incentive for me to get better.

If you want to be cocky, then be cocky. Just know that people aren't going to like you.

I have no reason to be cocky at all.... becuase I know here people out there waaaay better then me ex bemaniac,take,yasu,aaron and alot of skilled ddr playas in the us
