Hey, ive never played DWI or SM b4, so i thought id try one out. I heard that SM required a better cpu, so i tried to get DWI. Every time ive gone to a site to download it, it always linked me to the DWI site b4 i DLed it (nothing wrong with that). However, ive downloaded it multiple times, and everytime i try to unzip it, it tells me that it doesnt appear to be a valid archive, it is a broken archive, it may be part of a multi-part archive, etc. Ive tried unzipping it with Winzip, Winrar, and Winace, but to no avail. Please help

Also, I was considering SM, but didnt know of any sites with an abundance of Files for it like DDRUK has for DWI. I know very little about either program, but if you think I should get SM instead, let me know. And tell me why, not just "SM r0x0rs, DWI sux0rs!" or something else like that. My processor is only 400mhz, but my RAM is 512MB (or close to it), so whatever would be best for my cpu would be nice.

DWIs (ie: .dwi files) will work on SM as well as DWI. So if SM will work for you, go for it.

I had the same trouble with d/ling DWI recently too; I just redid it from a different mirror site and it worked for me.

DWI files can be used for SM. So you can give that a shot if no one can answer your ZIP problem.

Give SM a try. Any .dwi file will work with SM. Goto ddruk and download each mix, they will work with SM. As for your computer speed. You need Divix codec for random movies (www.divix.com its free). Direct X 9 helps too, get that from microsoft. If you are going to connect a dance pad look into the other topics on converters. I never tried dwi myself. I love SM though. So go for it. Worst thing that can happen is you dont like it and you just uninstall it. Good luck!

Thnx guys,
I dont have a converter, but i plan on buying one if i think these sims are worth my time (i have konamix, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th mix for my psx already). After going to an arcade out of state (and getting schooled by this guy who said he was going to a tournament soon, and was gonna go up against yasu riiight.gif ) I played 8th mix and loved some of the new songs. Im gonna try SM, im DLing it right now, and ive thankfully already got the divx codec and DirectX (very high version, but forgot which). Ill let you know if i have anymore problems.

Personally, I prefer DWI to SM. It sounds like your DWI archive problem is the fault of an incomplete download, not a specific problem with the archiver (WinAce, WinRar, etc. I use WinRar for my DWI downloads and it works fine). Keep trying for DWI; IMHO, it's worth the trouble.
