There are a LOT of nerds that play DDR. Not like cool type nerds, like Dungeons and Dragons type nerds. All of my brothers friends are nerds, and they all play like Magic the Gathering and stuff, boring NERDY stuff. Most of the people that play it now are big nerds. When someone has it at a party, all the kids nerdy friends go over and play it, and think they are such GREAT dancers, but if they got on the dance floor they wouldn't know what to do.

This doesn't go for everybody, i saw this one dude play it and he was awesome, and he wasn't discusting in his higene.

The game is being tooken over, most of the people on here are probably nerds, how many of you play dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, or go to star-trek conventions, or are obsessed with anime.

Most of you people probably dont even realize it. But this only goes for the boys, because usually the girls that play it are cool.

This is just something that I've noticed lately.

Ok, what the hell.

Are you making fun of Nerds?

Look, of course nerds play it.

They get attention.

Being obbsessed with Anime' doesn't make you a nerd.

Thats what I was thinking, they do it to get attention, but mabey they'd get attention if they would actually look presentable.

Yes being obsessed with Anime DOES NOT make you a nerd. but most of them are obsessed, i even went through a time period of it.

But nerds still play it and they are like taking over it. I dont like it.

Ok, this is a DDR board, most people here do like anime, play magic the gathering, and we like to play the game. It is not a big deal, like what you want to like, and we like DDR so get over it.

Holy CHRIST you are incredibly mistaken. We (well me and my friends at least) don't play it to get a attention. We play it because the game is FUN.

Nerds were into DDR from the beginning.

What's the big deal anyway?

I just don't like it. Its annoying. Magic and D&D, and also that Diablo stuff is so stupid. Anime has nothing to do with it, so nevermind about that, but still.

The game was made for cool people.

Please note, sir, that I am a nerd, and damn proud of it. You probably couldn't nerd your way out of a paper bag, assuming 'nerd' is a verb, which it's not, though I do 'Nerd things up' rather often. I play magic the gathering, I play Dungeons and Dragons, I watch anime, I will occasionally watch Star Trek, I'm a computer programmer, I build computers, and yet, oddly enough, I can in fact dance, and am considered very popular among the cerebral, and the college crowd. You being a 13-year old boy with posters of your favorite football players on your wall (If this is not physically you, I assure you that it is mentally) would not understand. People like you are shunned in the real world, and when you get to be about 30, you'll be bagging groceries* for a nerd, and thinking "Where did I go wrong?". On the off chance you do become successful, you'll be greatly disliked. Dumb teenagers are cool, while dumb adults are herded into construction crews, and laughed at by those of us who understand Chaucer. Catch my drift?

*Note: You're not going to get that 'Professional sports job' you want, give it up.

See above. What is 'cool' now is 'unpopularity' in real life. Girls also will be growing up soon. A 14 year old girl wants to date a cool guy, a rebel, while a 25 year old woman wants... where's the cliche again? Oh yes, Smart and funny. Classic. Cool guys are often left in the dust, so you have a lot of catching up to do.

Again... wrong! My group of friends is probably the nerdiest set of people in our state, however, 3 out of four of us (Including myself) have been in several relationships, and have been engaged. We have all been in love, and very seriously. Nerdiness does not, and will never affect that.

Well I AM PROUD of you, you can dance, Its good to see that someone of your nerdyness E1.gif can dance. (and im not being sarcastic)

Second of all I am a 16-year old boy, with no posters on my wall because I HATE football, its the most boring sport ever. And I dont think its me mentally either. What I usually do is like socialize and hang out with my friends and laugh, eat, watch tv, school, play video games, etc.

its just the whole RPG stuff just kinda freaks me out, like i could not even be like, "Your in a forest, someone comes out and fights you!"

And then have my friends respond, "Ill attack him wtih my sword that I dont have and will never have, but Ill roll dice and pretend because I have nothing better to do then sit around and play weird games that cause people to think that I am a big weirdo!"

i just dont see it.

I am a dork, but not in a freaky way, i mean I make people laugh, i am not this muscular jock that everybody probably pictures me right now. Yes I am very popular, but i am not cocky. I am a nice kid.

Its just these games i dont understand.

But kudos to those that aren't complete rejects of society.

You must not have been alive in the 70's. I wasn't either, but I can see the necessity. There was TV... maybe 5-10 channels on average. there was Radio. There was... Well, you could drive around and listen to 8-tracks... trust me, they needed something to do. I like fantasy books, so I fell into D&D, but it's a rarity that I play it, as I prefer video games. It takes a certain sense of imagination. Also, do note, in the 80's, people that played video games... were nerds. I sh** you not. A lot of people still have that 80's misconception of what a nerd is. Not many pocket protector wearing, fancy-dressing, slicked hair nerds with taped up thick glasses exist nowdays, or even at all. Mostly it's just gamers, otaku, and programmers. all the nerds I know are just like all of you, except smarter. That's what makes us nerds.

I can safely say I've never played any card game, gone to a Star Trek convention, played D&D or watched anime... well, except for my final for AP Lit. My friend and I did a feminist critique on Pokemon The Movie just because it'd be funny. I also wear deoderant and bathe.

I'm like you, though. I despise the majority of the people at the arcade and wish them all death.

Tis why I said on average. In the 70's, in my area, my mother said there were 23 channels. My dad, who didn't have cable, had 3 channels. So, I just picked 5-10 as a general idea.
