At my local arcade( DDRMAX2)one of the pads sucks at freeze arrows frown.gif frown.gif .You have to press REALLY hard,or else you will get a N.G.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?(The arrows <-

Some pads are a bitch at freeze arrows, try to remain perfectly still, so as not to get a NG, becasue if you move at all, it might sense it as you moving off the arrow.

You know, I might actually know a bit about this. If you can talk to the manager who can open up the arrows, here's what you should do...

Well, firstly you should know that I was at camelot golfland and the P1 right arrow was sticky so some guy came and fixed it... now to do this he was showing this newb employee so I could understand it too... anyway, he took off the arrow itself and inside there were two sensors, one facing forward and one facing right. There were some screws there, and one of them was too tight... it should have been looser so the pad would "unstick" (light up even when ur not pressing it) after letting go of the arrow. Maybe for you, it is WAY too loose and you need to TIGHTEN the screw. I'm probably wrong but just seeing what it looks like can't hurt, I guess. E4.gif

You know, I was having a problem like that, too... I stood PERFECTLY still, and I still got an N.G. I figured it was just me, since it was my first time playing Extreme, as well as freeze arrows. Do you think it's just because they upgraded our USA Mix to Extreme? I mean, I don't think the machine was too old anyways, but I have seen people stomp on it, and when I do, I request them to stop. Do you think someone may have stomped too hard? Help? E7.gif

Explained good have some comments on it though, the screws that hold the pad that hits the sensors are supposed to be tight. The reason people might loosen them is due to wear down of sensors or the pad keeps sticking to the sensor.

Some pads have anywhere from 1 to 4 sensors on them. The best way to get them fixed is to leave a comment card to the manager. Explain the problem, then how it effects gameplay, then how it would lose them money by not fixing it. It's no fun failing songs or getting bad scores because of bad sensors, and if it's no fun to you imagine how it would be for first time players. In my experience, I took off one of the arrows at our local arcade when I lived in Hawaii. There was four sensors, one on each edge of the arrow. In your case, it seems that one or more sensors might be bad. Freeze arrows from what I know, doesn't register during test mode so they need to be tested during gameplay. The tech may think that all the sensors work according to test mode but in reality they won't/don't register freezes. Another possiblity, but highly unlikely is that it's old hardware that doesn't support freezes. The only reason I say that is because most of the mixes were supported by the same type of board as a PS. From Max and on is more likely to be a PS2 type board. The best way is always bringing it to the attention of the manager and how it would lose them money by not fixing it.
