Tournament is in the air... and I guess I need to start planning and training for what is to come... And after reading the 10K commotion, I got all excited and junk...

What are the most played songs, and which ones are the best test of skill? (excluding the Max series and So Deep, which seem to be the top 4 last time I checked (Before the Paranoia Survivors came out.)

Because while you're playing the song you will be trying to rip your ears off... very distracting.

In a tournament I like to pick songs that are relatively difficult to PA, like Rain of Sorrow and On the Jazz. Or just generally weird songs that people do not play, like True...(radio edit), or Long Train Runnin'

Then you get the people that like to pick the songs with the most steps. These kind of people outnumber people like me, so count on seeing songs with 450+ steps.

you really don't want to try and just stick to just training with just the hard songs. play some that you haven't played in a while and just try to play everything you can. get familiar with all the songs and you should do fine.

If this wasn't the most pointless bump of a year and a half old topic ever, I'm not sure what is.

(And by the way, he clearly mentions the Max series and Paranoia Survivors in the first post, making your post even more pointless.)

The three Max's are the most popular at my arcade:
1. 300
2. Legend
3. Unlimited

Hmmm, I would think 5.1.1. would be harder to AA since you need 14 greats, FC...but then again, the song isn't really difficult considering it's only 105 steps.

I agree about Love this Feelin', first you gotta read crappy patterns at 90BPM, and when it speeds up, it feels so offbeat. I'd say it's one of the hardest 8-footers to SDG, I've managed to get 12 on it.

Some other tough 8 footers would be The Least 100 Sec., Mikeneko Rock, Healing Vision, Vanity Angel, and Lamour.

For intermidiate tournoments, So Deep standard seems to work.
