I usually start out playing Tsugaru cause it has the perfect blend of everything a song can throw at you....gallops...runs..hops...freeze arrows...everything.

My warmup is usually either Soul6 or Random All (Heavy). Soul6 is great because it starts really easy and slow, and gradually gets a little harder... and you actually get to play for a little while. Random All is just plain fun.

If someone forces me to play normal mode, usually I'll just play some 6-7 footers to start off before I get into the heavier stuff. I don't understand how some people can just come in and play MAX300 or similar right off the bat.

I've recently taken to starting up with either the Hop Step Nonstop on Normal or the From Home Nonstop on Difficult. The From Pop'N Music Nonstop is another good warmup.

The first thing I do is play is an oni course like Naoki feat. Paula Terry or Naoki Platinum. Maybe Pop 8 or Fine Choice. Not one of the ranking courses and not anything requiring a lot of energy like Para Bros or Love RevenG.
