After playing for months on my Softpad mod, the typical wood kind, it seems as if I can't even play on the arcade anymore. I put vinyl runner as padding underneath each footstep before I stapled it, so I have a raised section under each foot, I have a hunch those are what made me unable to use the arcade pad. How can I remedy this? Should I just abandon arcade playing altogether? I can normally do any nine footer in supernova on ps2, but on the supernova there, I couldn't even do a 7 I partially memorized. |

Is it an accuracy problem, or are you just not hitting the arrows hard enough? I know the home pads are much more sensitive than arcade pads are. |

That might be it, I guess I just need to stomp around, I never liked doing that though, because I always thought I looked dumb. |

If your only goal is to play the game in general, then it's not terribly important to be as good at the arcade as you are at home, so you'll just have to get used to fact that they are different and practice both as if they were separate games (which means in general you'll probably be playing a foot level or two below your max when you go to the arcade). If, on the other hand, your goal is to become truly competitive at the arcade, you will have to play at the arcade more than you play at home. If you want to take it further, you should invest in a metal pad with recessed arrow panels like a Blue Shark or CF w/ the arcade mod. Although neither is truly arcade-accurate, they will make the transition a bit less jarring. _________________

well you could just play some at home, get used to the charts some and then hammer out the rest at the arcades, this way you get used to the songs as well as spend more time on your desired location of the arcade. _________________
