i was playing today and i suggest a guy to play xenon and he goes berserk and tells me to shutup cause he would rather play the same 2 songs he always plays.... "A" "sync" and "abyss", im thinking "k....." then when i select heavy mode with my friend he runs up and says "why dont you select challenge mode, oh wait you cant cause you suck har har..." well since there is no such as challenge mode difficulty that is selectable (other than oni or press the down arrow) i tell him that hes a newb and should learn to piss off

erm.gif Was that an example of two people taking DDR too seriously or just one?

Sounds like two to me.

making fun of people who can't do Challenge songs is just wrong. Plus, some challenge steps are easier than the Heavy steps (like Kakumei). So he doesn't even know what he's talking about. You're right, he is a newb--no, wait, he's a NOOB laugh.gif

and A, Sync and Abyss are three songs, aren't they?

no i know there is challenge mode, but he told me to select it while i selected heavy, but there is no such thing, you can only select it during ur song selection or the oni mode of course

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was playing with a buncha people the other day (I think it was Friday) and this one kid's playing Legend of Max and........(gasp!) gets a miss, gets pissed, gets off the machine and kicks it. This other kid, who can finish LoM, decides to jump on the machine and attempt a nice perfect-filled finish. The angry kid then goes up to the kid who jumped on and PUSHES him off the pad, saying that he wanted to see how many greats he got.

A little too concerned, I think. Anyway, kid, I don't know your name, but if you're reading this, you care too much. Quit being a d*ck....you can always insert 4 tokens and try again. No one cares whether you get ONE miss or not (assclown).

I take DDR a little seriously, but not that seriously. I don't like being beaten, but i don't throw a fit. I just try harder.

I was passing through this arcade once and I found a 3rd Mix. On the machine is this guy playing Afronova, Dead End, and Paranoia Rebirth on trick. Of course he's surrounded by about 10 of his friends so he's showing off his scores (which were all B's). I finally get on the pad to play and he's there mocking me while I'm putting my coins in. I say nothing and immediately turn on SSR (maniac) mode, which judging by the look on his face he didn't even know about. I proceed in picking the same songs he picked only on manic (Afronova, Dead End and Paranoia Rebirth) and get A's on all of them. Obviously he comes on the pad like "Who the hell do you think you are coming into MY arcade trying to make me look bad?!". Then he says I cheated because I used "codes".... disturb.gif ANYWAY of course his friends tell him to sit down because "he got ate".

Pwned or what? E13.gif

Maybe that had nothing to do with anyone taking the game to seriously, but it's a story that I'll be sharing with my grandkids one day. laugh.gif

Yeah, pretty much the only thing that gets to me are people who make fun of DDR. But that's when I just knock them down and smack them around with my chain a little bit for making fun of my hobby.

That dude mentioned in the first post just sounds like he has some dysfunction. What a rude and funny person. E15.gif

Ok, there have been times when I get REALLY sick of people coming up and telling me what songs to play. This is how i see it, Unless they ask you for a suggestion, don't open your mouth. It just gets really annoying when you have random people just start saying, ' play this, play that, nooo don't play that, that song sucks" devil.gif It's even worse when they try to pick the song and hit start.

yea hes been playing these same songs for a month now, every bloody day, u know what else, not only he plays those songs, he screws up coins line, shadows people doing oni, and jumps on the other pad while someone is playing doubles. If someone gets off on extra stage, he likes to jump on it even though the person planned on going back on.

Then he probbaly does'nt know about coin lines etc.. All you have to do is polietly ask him to stop shadowing, ask him to not get on etc.. if you still have problems talk to someone in charge of the arcade and let him/her know your having problems with that person.

actually he does know about coin lines, he plays like 5 times in a row then 1 person goes then he plays like 3 days, everyone tells him that he screws up but he doesnt bother listening, and the arcade managers dont care as long as they get their money

Then I'd suggest talking to the owner. Let him know that if nothing is done and if the poor attitudes of his managers does not improve that he will be losing customers. Well that's what i'd do anyways.

Oh.. and on Friday when you were practicing... major assholage right there. For you CA people, he was doing LOM on ExtrsStage, and gets a good somewhere right before the freeze. Instead of just walking off, or maybe a "damn", he decided to a) kick the machine speaker and b) let out a loud "frick!". He stormed off the pad. Autofail was off, so anotehr kid jumps on. This prick gets pissed, violently pushes him off and screams his buttocks off at him, something about how many greats he got or something.
Hah, looks like Dre met JSB E15.gif

You should kill him.

I mean, he's obviously such a lunatic, deciding how he wants to play his games that he pays for, and that he really is the worst person ever who does all this terrible stuff. The best thing to do would be to smash his face in to the pad numerous times until his skull shatters.

...or you could ignore him.
