I've search many sites, and i haven't found (or at least worded) about modding ddr pad to play on tile floors. I'm pretty clueless about this - i own the game, but no ddr pad yet. could anyone point to me the right direction to go?

Soft or hard pad?

When i first started playing on my foam pad, I used the nonslip grip mat underneath my bedroom rug. Unfortunately that meant i couldn't have my rug down.
It did slip ever so slightly, but only a few centimetres over a few songs.

After that I built my own hard pad, which I use ontop of my rug. It moves, but again, not too much. I just push it back onto my rug every few songs.

Just yesterday I modded my soft pad (that is to say, i made an enclosure, since it doesn't involve modding the actual soft pad at all) and it doesn't slip much either on my rug. When i first tested it on my hardwood floor in the computer room however, it did fly out from under me a bit.

But it depends on what pad you have, and what type of tiles you mean.
If they're porcelain, you might want to put some sort of non slip rug under the mat, or some rubber feet/caster cups if it's a hard pad.
Heck, you could even try taping it to the floor.

There is a soft duct insulation you can buy to put on the bottom (it's also really good to use on the bottom of lexan arrows to lessen the impact on your feet. Anyway . . . the foam will keep the pad from damaging the floor and on some hard floors it will actually create a suction, preventing the pad from sliding.
