|
|
I've noticed in the pad thread that it that some of the more recent orders from buynshop have not gone so well. Issues such as not getting BNS pads but a cheaper knockoff, or poor customer service.
For anyone that has ordered recently, how long has it been since your order was processed? I ordered a pair of ignition pads on Friday, and I have only received the automatic confirmation e-mail immediately after making my purchase. Every time I go to their site to track the package, it gives me the same message that it's still being processed.
I've tried calling and e-mailing them to make sure, and the phone keeps ringing, and I obviously haven't gotten a reply to my e-mail. I've called many times, noting the timezone and the work hours, and it seems like either no one is there or the number they have listed is fake.
Anyone have any experience with this? |

Hi
I have not yet ordered from BNS. I did send them an email asking a couple of questions about their DX series pads on the 18th. I've heard nothing back which does make me a little leary of ordering from them.
I also sent an email to mymybox on the 16th re: their new Blueshark softpad which was reviewed on Overclock and is supposedly due out this summer. I just don't know what their version of summer is. Of course, no reply from them either
It's quite frustrating when you have a need for an item, you find a company selling what you think will serve your purposes, are willing to give them your money and you don't get any feedback from them.
If you hear back from them or have an update in general - you got what your ordered (meaning a real BNS pad or another brand), I know I'd be intererested to know.
Hope all goes well for you! _________________

Ignition? Did you go with red octane instead?
It took them 10 days to PROCESS it but once FedEx got a hold of it, it got here in 4 days. And I got the DDRgame pad, which is more expensive but so far I'm liking the USED BNS pad I bought much better. _________________

No, I just refer to pads with the thick padding as ignition pads out of habit. I purchased the Extreme fusion dance pad bundle.
It took TEN days to process and another 4 to get your pad, and then you got the wrong pad?
I really should have asked around here before buying. I remember buying my "ignition-type" pads from buynshop years ago, and they came quickly and both lasted me like 3.5. years!
Did you get another confirmation when they finally shipped your pads?
And I wonder if it's even worth it to try to cancel, as they haven't even replied to my e-mails yet. |

First they send you the auto-confirmation, later they send you the order number once it has shipped. The 2nd one I waited over a week for, and didn't receive until after I made a single email regarding the issue to [email protected].
Quote: | WWW.BUYnSHOP.COM attempts to ship all orders within 24-48 hours |
They used to say "usually" instead of "attempts" but it's actually rarely now.
I would "attempt" to cancel if I were you, though I'm eager to see if they still send out the DDRGAME pads. _________________

i had a great experience with them, they had it shipped within like 4 hours and it came fast(like 3-4 days). that was last october. I don't know how they are now, but ive always been satisfied with them. |

I actually registered so I could respond to this post directly. I ordered a pad on May 18th, and it STILL says that the order is processing. Calling and e-mail apparently do nothing, so I came here to see if I was alone in this. I'm really hoping that it's just a matter of time (because I really want the pad), but that seems like an incredibly long amount of time for a company to go with no response to the matter.
Any suggestions beyond what's already been said? |

If contacting them isn't working I don't know wtf to do. Personally I think it's just a matter of time.
Ramenboy, have you had any luck yet? _________________

I don't know what's going on at BnS, but I wrote them an email on May 18 ... it's now the 31st and I've heard NOTHING from them.
That does not give me confidence to spend my money on a product that a) might not be what's advertised/pictured on the site; b) isn't even their product; and c) that I'd get any type of help or support if I did buy something and there was a problem.
It's a shame really. Someone there better get with the program and start communicating with customers and potential customers. But mostly with people who've placed orders and it's like, you're sitting in outer space waiting and wondering what the heck is going on with your order! _________________

I'd still recommend it, just don't buy it through their website.

So, is there any other retailer that sells these, or am I stuck with having to buy an alternative? |

Lexical, I've looked - believe me I've looked. I personally have not seen anyone anywhere else (even on evilbay) selling "real" BNS pads.
I gave up and bought a set of 2 "knockoffs" ... they're ok? I mean at least the sensors work the foam inside is kinda cheap, should be denser definitely but for the price I figured what the heck. |
That's unfortunate, particularly given the fact that today I got an e-mail from Paypal on behalf of Buynshop saying that my payment had been refunded because the item was out of stock. It's of note that I got this from Paypal and NOT from the company (they've still yet to respond to my e-mails or answer my phone calls), and it came WEEKS after my initial order.
So I guess getting a BNS pad is out of the question. Who makes the next best pad of the same type? |

Oh good, I'm not the only one. I ordered a BNS Fusion in February. While BNS shipped quickly, what they sent was a DDR Game Energy. At first, I thought it might be a better pad -- the USB works with Macs (unlike Fusion/Sparkle) and it had raised inserts for the arrows -- but after four months I frickin' HATE it. The right insert has slid halfway out of position, leaving a raised edge right in the middle of the right arrow, and up and down are highly flaky.
Guess it's time to find a new favorite third-party pad? |

i hear the new mymybox blueshark foam pads aren't bad, although i haven't ever actually used one, so don't quote me on this. They seem a little overpriced($70+shipping) and don't come with compatibility for all the different systems. But if it's a good pad, i'd say the sacrifices are willing to be made.
anyone got one of these?

I know this belongs in the blueshark topic, but we are talking about BNS and what the heck is going on with them. I don't know if they're going out of business, if they already are out of business or are turning into another reseller of the lesser quality pads - which means big time false advertising and potential US mail fraud in the case of having their own branded pads for $xx on their site and sending cheaper no-name pads for that price.
That said, I will be posting on the blueshark when it gets here - I just broke down last night and ordered the Blueshark Deluxw Dance Pad (PS2) - NEW 2008 Model. _________________

My down arrow slid up and almost closed the gap in the middle. I was getting frustrated so I cut it open and pulled the plastic riser down and taped it back up. I'd recommend you giving this a shot, especially if your planning on buying a new one anyway. Just make a cut with a utility knife (otherwise known as a box cutter) on the top (outside) of the pad close enough to the edge so you don't screw up the sensors, stick you hand in there and pull it to the desired location. The inside is coated with a tree sap like substance to prevent the sliding so it will be difficult and sticky. When your done, push firmly down on the panel and apply a layer of duct tape where you had made the cut. _________________

i should mention i once owned another pad that was a lot like the BNS DX fusion/sparkle pads. it had that gloss material on the outside, except this one had diagonal arrows in the corners(the top 2 were green, bottom 2 were gray). it worked great before it broke(and the only reason it broke was because my sister played on it with shoes and stepped on the control box). i got this pad on ebay for around $10+$30 shipping, so if you find one and wanna take the risk, go for it. i don't know who made the pad, but it looks exactly like this on that mymybox makes. the only difference i see is the pad i had also had an xbox connecter.
