In 5thMIX, it gave us the debut of BeForU, which some of us quickly hailed as "The Future of DDR"; but, that wasn't the case when the girls signed (or rather, Konami sold them out) to AVEX(, while IIDX get to sign Dance*Man).
What DDR got in return? Angelus from Inuyasha!

I didn't even KNOW it was from Inuyasha (hell, I didn't even know it HAD OPs thanks to Adult Swim cutting them out) till someone here told me.
To be fair, Konami has 2 OP from animes they sponser (Gurren Lagann [Trust] & Sky Girls [Baby's Tears]). I'll wait & see what the next DDR will bring us. We've only got 4 (if you wanna count Freckles. I can't remember what show had that) songs that've been on an anime, 2 being part of Konami, the other 2 being licensed songs. As long as it's good music & doesn't damage the reputation of DDR much, I don't care.
I'm still sad that there's next to -10% of getting more BeForU songs on DDR (or anyother Bemani game, for that matter), but hey. Something might work out. Who knows? |

Freckles is from Rurouni Kenshin.
I actually like the anime songs - TimeHollow, Trust and Freckles win. _________________

I think he's mad that we're getting anime music. Frankly, as long as it sounds good, I don't care where it comes from. _________________

When I first clicked this topic, I imagined it would be about stuff like Xepher and DoLL only being popular because of their background videos
I think something to be more concerned about for the future DDR is if Naoki retired or quit or something. THEN things would be a bit more downhill. _________________

I can't stand Naoki, but the horrors unleashed to replace him would be 50 times as worse... Oh wait a minute... _________________

Yup.
I don't see how you can claim beatmaniaIIDX gets to "sign" DANCEâMAN when he does two songs for one game. ANGELUS is licensed from AVEX anyways, so it's a moot point, as BeForU is still fair game in that case. ANGELUS also wasn't made just to be the theme for Inuyasha. It was selected as such, that's all.
I hate to blow your world again, but even beatmaniaIIDX15 DJ TROOPERS contains content licensed from AVEX as well. OH THE DEATH OF BEMANI WHAT WILL WE DO! _________________

BTW, TimeHollow is from Konami's new DS game, not an anime.....Why do I feel like that's not the last time I'll be saying that?
Point is, they were 1st licensed songs, THEN anime themes, but we don't care where they come from, as long as the song sounds good. |

Yup, Freckles rocks.
I'm under the impression it's an original though, at least, the KCP Reedit is.
It's origin is supposedly from Dancemania, if I remember right. _________________

lol no! He still accounts for a ridiculous amount of songs in the songlists. Though it appears he has less on his shoulders with these newer mixes. _________________

We can't forget about Lupin the 3rd, can we? | Wow, I forgot about that. Too bad it's one of those "we'll never see it as a revival" songs...That probably had to be the 1st anime to have a song on DDR. |

1. Well, IIDX has more than enough artists to the point that Dance*Man's services is deemed unnecessary. As for Angelus/other otaku baits, the suits have figured out that they can replace BeForU's place, after selling the girls out.
Also, last I checked, as Konami sold out the girls to AVEX, they did likewise to the BeForU name. Worse, for countless of DDR fans who had seen the game's future in BeForU, they felt betrayed. Oh, need I remind you the girls are practically banned from giving DDR new works, as mentioned in their contract with AVEX?
2. Everybody knows by now that AVEX is IIDX's counterpart of Dancemania.
With those out of the way, I find it ironic that Bemani fans from other games bitched, whined, moaned, and groaned, "OMG! DDR STOLE AWAY INUYASHA!" Yet, IIDX and pop'n music, specifically, have more than enough artists, to the point both games can survive without some of them. _________________

Now that you mention it, Pop'n Music has WAY more anime songs than DDR. I mean, there's (from my limited Pop'n knowledge):
Evangelion
Dragon Ball
One Piece
Gurren Lagann (another song from the series appeared in DDR, "Trust")
Case Closed/Detective Conan
Shin-Chan
Cowboy Bebop
Not to mention that there's also TV themes, like Monkey Magic, which appeared on Guitar Freaks/Drummania Masterpiece Gold. It was a old TV show. |

I guess that's why AVEX songs are already on DDR.
You seriously need to get over yourself here. It's one group, which is currently in limbo, whose AVEX material have appeared on BEMANI (one song is enough).
The "suits sold out" BeForU, seriously, this is so ridiculous. It is extremely selfish to expect the group be held back by BEMANI when they're more popular than that. Konami's label can only take them so far, and they've grown beyond it. They are, foremost, a digital entertainment company, not a music label.
Look, BeForU wasn't going to "save" DDR. Even with them, EXTREME and SuperNOVA were crossover disasters. And since when is AVEX banned from DDR? Disney's Rave was licensed entirely by AVEX. Since the contract with Toshiba-EMI is over, any and all licenses are fair game. Hell, NAOKI's still involved with them on AVEX anyways! _________________

[4a.]Look, BeForU wasn't going to "save" DDR. Even with them, EXTREME and SuperNOVA were crossover disasters. [b.]And since when is AVEX-era BeForU banned from DDR? [c.]Disney's Rave was licensed entirely by AVEX. [d.]Since the contract with Toshiba-EMI is over, any and all licenses are fair game. Hell, NAOKI's still involved with them on AVEX anyways! |
1. Fixed.
2. "One song is enough!?" Please! Tell me that when everybody else in Bemani composes DDR Originals. Hell, IIDX & pop'n have been hogging the roster, to the point that Naoki and BeForU are the only ones in the DDR roster, by default.
3. One of the many reasons why BeForU outgrew Bemani is due to the fact that they were the first girl band to NOT begin their Bemani, let alone music, career on IIDX & pop'n. And also, isn't it more selfish of Konami to understaff DDR, as it focuses and designates > 90% of the entire Bemani roster near-exclusively to IIDX/pop'n than it is to see than what you claim the way I see of BeForU?
4. [a.]BeForU aren't at fault for Extreme and SN AC's failures.
[b.]Also, AVEX isn't BANNED from DDR; I was referring to BeForU. As in, since the otaku bait Angelus appeared in SN2AC, any AVEX-era BeForU material isn't allowed to appear in SN2AC. You said it yourself: "One song is enough;" but in this case, it turned out to be, "One song from AVEX is enough."
[c.]But, as far as I know, Disney's Rave is Special Edition, and NOT part of the main series. If I remembered it correctly, it was intentionally made for the sake of cross-marketing.
[d.]As for the whole contract with Toshiba-EMI, I find it hard to believe that Konami failed to realize that some of the Dancemania-sponsored artists have more songs licensed for DDR, to the point that those artists practically would had their own courses, than its own insiders, composing DDR Originals.
License-wise, please tell me when a Nintendo CS DDR game would land either Mezase Pokemon Master or Together, and include it in its A-spec version. Or better yet, put any/both of them in the main series, so that Konami would have itself a loophole.

Actually, I'm pissed off, because we're getting anime music, at the expense of another BeForU appearance. _________________
