I just completed the "Slower" survival course!! I'd made a topic about completing these before, and they were reckoning it was too early for me to be able to complete one... I just proved them wrong. I still fail many 10's and even a few 9's.

(Why does it say Hallway when all the songs were done on Overhead?)

I had almost 20 seconds left after each of the first four, but completed the last one with less than two seconds to spare. I had one Decent in the third song and the rest of my non-combos were on Energizer. (None on the slowdown, though!)

What was nice about Slower is that there are no other mods besides the arrows scrolling slower as the course progresses. I see a lot of people complain about how much they suck at 1x, and here I am, a peon without a single 11, 12 or 13 to my name, getting through the Energizer slowdown on 0.5x. Apparently reading densely packed arrows is becoming a lost art.

The Survival courses range from 8 to 10 in difficulty and this is one of the 10's... yet I found it the easiest. Go figure.

So what was your first Survival course completed, and which do you think is the easiest?

Congrats on your first survival
this is my best survival, as well as my favorite.

Try the survival with One False move H as the last song.
I've gotten close with that one.

really, medium is fairly easy to read there. You should try some songs on Decel.

Nice job!

I think my first was Mirage, if memory serves. I can get to the slowdown of Energizer in Slower, and then just totally bomb it. Silly me. E13.gif

I got Cohesion and Space after awhile too. Perception I can't read Incognito on at all.

I used to have plenty of Survival scores on our ITG 2 machine... but the Arcade owners reset it a while back and its been over a year since I have played ITG 2... so I doubt I could do them again... but I think I was 3/4 of the way through clockwork genesis on Perception, then I have beaten Speeder but didnt get the high score since there were players who always used fast speed mods... I have beaten Slower since I am usually the type of player to pass road of Slow on the extreme machine and pass Bag on 1x with no problem... Slower IMO was one of the easiest survival courses on there.

What's with the random misses? Were those pad? I was ahead of you through most of it, getting about your FA but without the misses, but you FA'd the fast parts of Energizer MUCH better than I did to beat my score. Since my maximum song-passing capability is only 10 for the most part (I did get my first 11, Charlene, now), my FA drops off when I go from a six to a nine. Hence, the 57 greats. I'd say 50 of them - as well as two decents and two misses - were on Energizer.

You were good enough even on the hardest one that it seems to me that all the misses were pad. Correcting for those, I'd say you've got about a high ** rather than an S+.

I say this from experience somewhat: There's an ITG in Elkhart, IN that throws random pad misses and even pad greats. Yes, pad greats. I get a number of greats on Medium charts I could easily FEC or even SDE in Mishawaka.

Any misses before Energizer were because I was trying to make the chart more interesting and got tripped up a bit. I find it really hard to FA Agent Blatant, so that's why I almost failed at Summer. In Energizer, I usually get that part, but I just messed up.

that was no bar.

It was done on an upgraded cab, but the pads are actually good
