ok, so i got a DDR Champion metal mat from ddrgame.com for my birthday. it's great and all but the left arrow doesn't work. E2.gif
when you press any other arrow the lights light up on all of the arrows (including the left arrow's), so the lights work. but when i press the left arrow, no lights light up. also whenever i enter a part in the game that has a scrolling wheel the left arrow automatically starts making the wheel turn without me pressing it, and it never stops. i opened up the left arrow and since i know nothing about them i opened up all of the other ones to compare what they healthy arrows look like on the inside to the broken one. i don't notice anything but that a bit of the cord is not taped down with the electric tape, but i didn't bother bacuse i don't think putting electric tape there would help.

...can someone please help me fix it? E2.gif

This is what happens when you buy from DDR Game. Anyway, could you post a link to DDR Game's page for it or post a picture? It's likely one I'll recognize since most DDR Game pads are some other pad that's been rebranded. Also, if you could take pictures of the inside of the panel, that would help.

it sounds like the left arrow doesnt have enough space between the sensors.

like, the cheap buttocks foam is too thin, and you need to get some weatherstripping to fix it (thats what my friend did)

Or, the aluminum tape could be peeling off. Open it up and see if there's anything obvious first. If not, do what slvrshdw recommended. BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE PANEL. If you jerk it out, you might mess up the wires to the LED's.

ok, i will post a picture of the left arrow, but probably not today or anythime next week, maybe over Christmas break.

...and guess what? i just opened my other metal mat out of the box and it works fine but what is pissing me off right now is that when the company made the holes in the mat for the bar they were stupid enough to make the holes not line up with the width of the bar. so now the bar (that came with the mat) won't go into one mat that works fine and the bar (that came with the other mat) will go into another mat whose left arrow receives like shit.
so i spent two hours trying to fix it and it's not working. now i'm trying to figue out whther to go through all the trouble of having the second mat sent back to the company and getting a new one or just having someone come and fix it.
p.s. the first mat's warranty is void because it's over 30 days since i first got it.

...never again buying from DDR Game. their quality sucks ass.

Most likely the sensors are either too close to the each other or the electric tape is hanging off.

In that case you are going to have to add some foam or other material to space the sensors away from each other just enough so they are equal with the rest of the pad. The biggest thing is making sure the sensors aren't touching when you screw everything back on.

If for some odd reason that isn't the case first replace the electric tape if possible then check very carefully for any sticky residue on the sensor that might have come from the electric tape or foil bits if there are any. I had a case with my pad recently where the tape had left a residue with a foil bit that messed up the gap.
