which foam pad

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a decent foam pad. I've narrowed it down to these two (I think). Does anyone have any opinion on either. On the deluxe pad is says version 4.5 but i've seen version 4, 3 and 2 which are much cheaper but they all look just like 4.5. I'm not sure what the difference is. If anyone knows that answer as well that would be great. Thanks everyone!

I've read through most of the controller sticky...it's so long that it takes forever and most of the stuff is on hard pads and people arguing over whether one pad is better than the other. Then there's one guy who just keeps saying "build your own". After reading it, I'm still not sure I know the answer.

my guess is its just for cosmetics and not actual functionality, but who knows with softpads

but, if you really want a foam pad, get the cheapest one, cut a piece of thin plywood the right size, and put that under the foam. that will increase the life of it.

and then once that breaks, look into getting a different pad.
