My local ITG2 dedicab has not been functioning well lately, after it is been on for sometime each day the display will slow down and make the game play jittery, the load times also slow down considerablely, and even the game programing begins to act funny by not tracking the damage meter correctly. So when the game does slow down its easy to pass Surivial courses.

Turning off the cabinet for five mintues will clear the problem for a while so it seems like a hardware problem. Any suggestions?

Dust has been cleaned out. And it is not a hacked cabinet.

Sounds like an overheating problem.

Best thing to do would be to get some canned air, open up the back of the machine, and clean out as much dust as you can. Also, after doing that, try playing with the back of the machine opened, it'll get the boxor more ventilation. We had the same problem with our machine for a while, and this fixed it.

And more RAM couldn't hurt either.

had the same issue at a dedicated r23 on LI. The owner was using the original RAM it came with. He upgraded it once, and it acted up a month later...he eventually had do double that amount(I believe it was 512 total) so it worked flawlessly. He also advised us he cleaned the dust and if it acts up again to let him know so it doesn't overheat\slow down. : )

hope that helps

Mine has the same exact problem, only turning it off for 5 minutes won't do jack. I'm gonna try cleaning out the back of the machine and hope it works. If any opening up/upgrading ram is required, chances are I won't be allowed to do anything about it since my manager really doesn't care. Just because kids play on it, she thinks it works perfectly, but she has no idea how much the FAing players suffer from this. MAYBE I'll get her to let me clean out the boxor if she trusts me (I'm a familiar face there), but I really think she'll say no.

shurf:

just get a big can of compressed air, then go to town. You can do it in between games, and it's easy to get away with, almost all of the air will just scatter around the machine and settle, it won't be in it anymore.

just spray into the two speakers in the bottom front of the machine, then do the same for the back.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??!?!? It seems so easy to do. If it works, I'm gonna be like... the hero of my arcade (with credit of course given to you nerd.gif). I have to do this next time. Yeah, I saw the speakers, and through the blue glass, I saw clusters of dust all over. Hopefully blowing all that extra crap off will have some effect. And I'll definitely do the same for the back.

Hmm....... Will an empty can of windex work? If not, no problem. I'll look for other cans.

this happened to the dedicab at one of the arcades here in niagara falls...

opened the back

the CPU fan was clogged and not running right. i had a spare one (as i water cool my pc's, i dont use the stock HSF's)

replaced it, did some arctic silver thermal paste, and then put an additional HIGH FLOW fan right smack on the video card.

worked FLAWLESS ever since.

$10 says the CPU is throttling itself due to heat.

We had the same problem.
The idiots had to put the game directly against the wall.

So the machine lagsthen? Almost like the beat mod is always on?
